Sbank isn't on so I guess I'll start this up at the last minute. Game's about to start.

No worries. They've been struggling after scoring that first goal though :(

3-2 Red Wings mid-way through the second period. Pick it up Pens!

This game looks a lot like the cup finals. Very little offensive control. Good PP defense by the Wings and good screens.

If nothing else, it's nice to see the Pens offense tear through Detroit in this one. Even if we lose, at least we can score on them.

Guins win! Guins win! Guins win!

They just could not cope with Jordie. Big man in the high slot, big man in the crease, setup man extraordinaire!!!

Also, got Fleury off the hook on a god-awful goal to make it 6-4. Excellent win from the jaws of defeat.

BTW: blow me, Hossa.

GUINS WIN!
We just kept coming, making those quick passes and getting around the Detroit trap. Jordan was a beast, not only in the slot, but all over the ice, stripping the puck, making plays, getting his own rebound to score. We are on a tear, going home to play Flyers and Buf. GreatGUINwin for us!

Yeah, it seems when we forecheck IN THE NEUTRAL ZONE we upset their perfect little world. This is even more important than an offensive zone forecheck vs. these guys. And when we wait to pick them up at our own blueline, our D isn't able to step up for counter.

The issue is, it's tiring to FC in the NZ all game long - you have to pick your spots and we were strategic w/this in third.

Great win. Can't wait to get Gonchar back and have him and Goligoski on PP points, with Malkin roaming sideboard of offwing and corner. It's too risky with him on point against quick, darting teams like Detroit.

GO GUINS!

What a crazy game and a great win! It's so great to get revenge on the Wings after they beat us in the finals last year :D

Jordan Staal had a hat trick and registered an assist in a 7-6 overtime victory Tuesday night. After a strong rookie season where Staal scored 29 goals and 42 points in 81 games in 2006-07, nothing has quite worked out. Staal endured a terrible sophomore slump last season, scoring just 13 goals and 28 points. He failed to turn things around early this season, scoring two goals and registering three assists in his first 14 games. However, he showed us a glimpse of the promise we all know he has in this game. This isn't necessarily a turning point in Staal's career, but he has tremendous potential and he should be a great player someday.

Rotoworld.

Great to see Staal get back on track with a great performance last night.

What happened to Scuderi?

He Blocked a slapshot with his foot, he returned for like 2 shifts but had to leave again

That made me cringe.
