Yeah i know. i agree with you both. It blows my mind. bottles my brain..like where you brain is all bottled up. haha. I'd really like to see Jerry sloan win one. before he's done coaching. he says that. That type of stuff doesnt matter to him. but I'm sure it does it would be nice to see him get it this year.

coach of the year is the toughest award to figure out. Most of the time it goes to a coach that's done the most with the least or surprised many. I mean Phil Jackson hasn't won many either and how many other coaches have been to 11 NBA Finals just as a coach?

I never understood the fans that protest the MVP, b/c that's easily the most predictable, but the best coach is tougher. Like this year, without their guys you would think Sloan would be leading, but how can you not give it to the Atlanta coach. Who expected them to be 5-0?

If there's a suprise team in the NBA this year, I'm sure that's where Coach consideration will go. The only way Phil has a shot, is for LA to win 70+ games.

Utah would have to finish #2 overall, or even #1 overall for Sloan to get it.

Yeah, its shocking he has never won it.
But honestly, he doesnt need that award.
Everyone knows how great of a coach is he.
And Im sure he knows it as well.

Coach of the Year isn't supposed to be a lifetime achievement award.

Funny how people talk about Jerry Sloan not getting the award.

PJ has never won it as well, apart from the 72 win Bulls season.

PJ never won it?! That's so hard to believe. What ever team does better b/w Lakers and Utah should get it as long as they're a top team in their conference.

Well the only year he won was when the Bulls won 72 games...

sloan not has won a coach of the year:bs:

No sir. I am so glad I came to this page, and it wasn't a Phil Jackson thread. Sloan, if he can get Utah into a top 3 seed, deserved it, unless the Lakers go for 63 wins or something like that, then I may have to give it to Phil for handling all those excpectations

Could very well be Terry Porter if he leads the Suns to a top three seed.

He probably should have won in 07....other than that I can't think of a specific year....

COY should not go to the coach that wins the league or a division or whatever, it should go to the coach that brings up the best from the worst load of crap.

This year for example, basing on this first coupl of games it shoudl be Iavarino or Dantoni
