bad news bears

Pro Basketball News is reporting that a trade of Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace is "imminent."
Where Wallace might land is still uncertain, though one possible destination could be Golden State in a deal involving Al Harrington. At this point nothing is done, but we will continue to update this story as it develops. Nov. 7 - 1:10 pm et

word is a 3 team deal is in the works

Charlotte gets: Eddie Curry and David Lee

New York gets: Al Harrington

Golden State gets: Gerald ****ing Wallace

i will personally **** down MJ's throat if he trades away Wallace and takes on Curry.....no link on that specific rumor, but this also mentions a possible "massive shake up" including felton

11-07-2008, 06:24 PM
morrison also potentially part of the "massive shake up"

This is not smart...GREAT deal for Warriors though. Monta, Maggette, Wallace, Jackson, and Biedrins is not bad.

11-07-2008, 10:41 PM
will i have to be the bobcats forum mod if he is traded? lol

seriously though, DONT TRADE WALLACE! larry brown likes defense, GW is out best defensive player...

Haha I would continue to be a TM of the Bobcats. Gerald Wallace isn't the only reason why I like the Bobcats.

11-08-2008, 04:54 PM
Gerald Wallace/ Naz Mohammand for Marion/Blount :D

I thought the Knicks wanted cap space? Other wise they do the Curry for Wallace even up. Knicks didn't want Wallace deal. Yeah Al is a shorter contract. But still. Thought Knicks wanted to go after LeBron? Heck the Bucks could of got in on this if Knicks wanted expiring players. Bucks could deal Damon Jones expires,Tyronn Lue expires ,Joe Alexander, then Knicks send Curry to Bobcats then Bucks get Wallace. Thats if the Knicks wanted expiring deals. Cause thats the reason there keeping Marbury.

11-08-2008, 08:27 PM
would you want him for lamar odom?

11-08-2008, 08:34 PM
No to Odom , Shawn Marion

11-08-2008, 08:40 PM
If the Bobcats are going after Centers . There are more options out there . If Larry Brown & Michael Jordan wants them ? My suggestions would be . Marcus Camby , Bargnani , Blount .

11-08-2008, 08:42 PM
Here some more suggestions .If we are talking power forwards . Rasheed Wallace , Bargnani , Chris Wilcox , Najera , Kleiza ,
Kenyon Martin . What ever Larry Brown & Michael Jordan wants

As of right now, its looking like the talks of a 3 team deal are still heating up, but the problems in trying to actually make the deals happen are as follows. The Warriors do not want to add on another swingman in Gerald Wallace since they already have plenty of swingman. The Warriors also plan to extend Stephen Jackson's contract. In almost all rumored deals, most of them have Al Harrington going to the Knicks, David Lee and Eddy Curry going to the Bobcats. I think now the problem is what the Bobcats are willing to trade to the Warriors or what the Warriors want from the Bobcats. There haven't been any talks of Raymon Felton, but I can see Raymon Felton going to the Warriors, since the Warriors certainly could use a PG like Raymon Felton.

Thanks for the update . Worst trade in Nba History for the Carolinas .

Forward Gerald Wallace didn't get rattled last summer as his name kept coming up in trade rumors. But now it's different - it's clear his name is in play, and he's trying best he can to concentrate on the job at hand. "Now it's the regular season; I'm trying to adjust because all this is is a lot of distraction,'' Wallace told the Observer before Friday's home game against the New Orleans Hornets. So does he think there's substance in the talk? "I don't know. But as long as I'm here I'm going to do whatever I can to help our team win. If it goes down, then it goes down. I'll just have to adjust. But right now my main thing is getting us on the right track.'' Teams have been inquiring about Wallace's availability for months. The Observer reported in June that the Bobcats and Toronto Raptors talked about a Wallace-for-T.J. Ford swap prior to the Raptors sending Ford to the Indiana Pacers for Jermaine O'Neal. One rumor circulating the country would have Wallace heading to Golden State, Warriors forward Al Harrington joining the New York Knicks and Eddy Curry leaving New York for the Bobcats. Salaries for those three are close enough that such a trade is viable under salary-cap rules. However, that's not necessarily the only scenario out there.

This smells of a desperation move by MJ. LB likes defense and want's an up tempo style. Gerald Wallace gives him that, Eddy Curry does not. LB has already benched Sean May for being out of shape, so MJ's going to bring in Eddy Curry? Eddy Curry is probably the least valuable piece out of all three players. He may have more (or at least as much talent) but he doesn't bring it every night and his disdain for defense doesn't help an already weak defensive team, thus he's not as "valuable". Especially when our best defensive players is who he's being traded for. If this trade goes down and the 'Cats only get Eddy Curry then MJ can officially take the title of worst GM, President, Player Personnel guy in the league.

11-10-2008, 10:28 AM
MJ is a joke. Getting David Lee helps a little, but good god, why Curry? Does MJ think this is improving the team? He's a dumbass.

11-10-2008, 02:13 PM
The one thing Eddy Curry has, besides an appetite is potential... and lets not forget that MJ was there when Washington decided to take a shot on Kwame Brown.

I think MJ more than anything likes to try and find the "needles in the haystack." I don't think anyone is denying Eddy Curry CAN be a dominating force, I think the criticism is his desire and the system he is in.

He is only 26ish? Perhaps throwing him with a young Richardson, Felton, Augustin, Okafor (who btw is probably the IDEAL player for him) isn't such a bad idea.

It allows Okafor to move over to PF, his nature position... and I don't know of ne 2 players that wud complement each other more than Okafor (all defense) and Curry (no defense).

Toronto has contacted the Bobcats about Wallace. I don't think they have anything we want though outside of bosh who they will never part with

11-10-2008, 03:59 PM
Toronto has even less to offer than the Knicks. Bosh would be the only player of substance. Trading for Joey Graham and Bargnani for instance wouldn't exactly help..

For your viewing pleasure and speculative purposes..Below are some contracts (or combination of contracts) that would work in a trade from the 4 teams mentioned (not necessarily who is on the market or has even been mentioned in a trade rumor). Anyone who makes more than Crash i.e. Zach Randolph, Marbury, Bosh, JO etc I removed, or anyone who is isn't likely to be moved a la Jose Calderon or Stephen Jackson I removed. Additionally anyone who doesn't seem viable such as Jerome James, Jared Jeffries or Malik Rose I removed as well.

gerald wallace would look good in a d'antoni system

11-10-2008, 07:07 PM
If the Nets could get Gerald Wallace I would be soooo happy.

11-10-2008, 08:02 PM
I have a idea . Bobcats Trade Wallace to the Raptors for Andrea Bargnani , Anthony Parker , Roko Ukic . The Bobcats still have alot on the roster . That they can use in other trades . For a Super Star & anything else they need or aviable . To make the numbers work . If Michael Jordan & Larry Brown wants to .

11-11-2008, 12:25 PM
Kaman is on the market, and they contracts work out....I expect the Bobcats to look into him.

11-11-2008, 04:33 PM
Chris Kaman is a nice big man, but I don't know how likely a trade with the Clips is. They already have Al Thornton, Cuttino Mobley, Eric Gordon, Ricky Davis, Tim Thomas etc on the wing. Also they let Maggette walk (who is an athletic wing himself) to make room for Thornton...Wallace is better than all those guys at this point, but the Clips would have to move some of them or at least get a third team involved or else half of their players would play the same/similar postions...

11-11-2008, 04:49 PM
it would have to be a three team deal...probablly with the knicks involved

i could see:

Kaman to Charlotte

Wallace to NY

David Lee and an addition player not named Eddie to the Clips

11-11-2008, 04:57 PM
I'm sure the Clips would have to get a big man back in return somehow because taking a look at their roster after Kaman and Camby they're thin... Maybe they deal Mobley on the side so they can take on more salary. The Knicks seem hell bent on clearing cap space for the massive free agent class that is looming with LBJ, DWade, Bosh etc so taking on Wallace's contract would go against that theory...

11-12-2008, 08:15 AM
what you guys consider a trade with phx for Diaw and Bell or Hill or Barnes. Diaw has a solid post game and passing and is a good perimiter defender (not as good as Wallace but not many are) and a decent post defender (i imagine Okafor would defend oppositions best post player) and either of Bell (all nba first defensive team two years running), Hill or Barnes provide modest contracts, excellent defense and good team work ethic.

11-22-2008, 04:11 AM

implies that chris kaman is who they are after, now that would be a good trade for you guys.

11-22-2008, 06:12 PM
That was couple days ago and I don't think the Clippers want Gerald Wallace big contract
