The following guys on your list are "not" dirty players: Kobe, Rasheed, Shaq, Manu, Perkins, Rasheed, Rob Horry, and Steve Nash. I don't consider Ron Artest a dirty player either.

1) Bruce Bowen

no one else comes close

He is the only player in the nba I know of that consistently attempts to injure opponents

Nash???? Haven't seen him check anyone into the scorers table yet....the season is still young though ;)

Bell of a few years ago I can't argue. Same with Bowen and Horry (but really just the Nash-Check).
A lot of these guys get T'd up a lot, but it's not from being dirty. Even Sheed isn't that bad.

Kobe's flailing arms post shot to people's jaws don't bode well for the "he's not a dirty player" campaign.

Did you notice it was to all white guys? I'm not saying. I'm just saying. (And yes, white guys are a minority in the NBA)

By todays standards Bowen could be called a dirty player, but 15 years ago he'd be one of the many physical lockdown defenders. Because he has gained a reputation as a great defender he can get away with more on the defensive end. It's the same as Kobe getting his reputation as an elite scorer and getting away with more on the offensive end.

Bowen. No contest. Aside from his "edward scissor hands" style of D, he has under cut players time and time again. Very dirty and dangerous.

not even close. bruce "lee" bowen. he kicks people in the face. and in the legs. and punches people.

bowen is the dirtiest.

kobe is up there as well. the arm flailing that he did to get suspended a few times is pretty cheap.

Kobe and Bowen I think are the worst. Artest is definitely not a dirty player, he plays the game as clean as it gets. The palace brawl gives him the reputation of being a crazy lunatic about to explode any second who takes it out on people on the court by elbowing them and such. Just isn't true.

You will put a guy on the list for flailing his arms trying to draw a foul over a guy who was getting taken to school and had to resort to a choke hold take down? Please kid:rolleyes:

I think Doug Christie was the dirtiest Kings around. Who hits a guy in under the chin while his hands are raised? Thats dirty.

kid?

and the choke hold was to send a message, and it worked in that series.

the arm flailing was a cheap shot, it was more than once, and the nba disciplinarians agreed.

So the choke hold was not a cheap shot? The NBA disciplinarians agree that it was a cheap shot. Kobe was trying to send a message too. He was saying dont contest my shot:rolleyes:

Steve Nash is one of the most respectable players in the league. He shouldn't be on this list. Rasheed Wallace shouldn't be on this list either; he gets too emotional some times, but he is by no means dirty.

That's great and all, but has nothing to do with the topic. As far as Kobe, except for two isolated incidents, he has been a clean player throughout his career. How can you even put him in the same category as a guy like Bowen, who grabs and holds people every game and tries to undercut guys when they shoot, so they will fall down and twist an ankle.

Kings Faithful

Christie played fair. Fox did something to piss him off and he retaliated. Kobe elbows people in the face causing them to bleed and gets away with it, while shaq likes to step over free-throw lines and push people around while he racks up fouls on other people when he's the one causing all the contact. No, but your probably right, Christie was dirtier.

but the dirtiest looking player is probably robert swift. looks like the type of guy you dont want to stand next to in the locker room after the game.

Im not sure if he's actually on an NBA roster at the moment, but he was as dirty as they come in college...specifically against Duke. (on a couple different occasions.)

Because anytime there's a chance to talk trash on Kobe, all the Kobe haters come out in droves, even if it is unfounded

Threads like this make me happy there's an ignore button on this site :)

Bowen's easily the dirtiest player in the league

tough D is something Ron Artest or Kobe Bryant do

Bruce Bowen plays defense by attempt to hurt/injure the opponent. That is not being "tough", it is being a coward

Kobe isn't actually all that dirty on defense. Can't believe I just said that...

Dirtiest player in the game is Kevin Garnett. He gets away with entirely too much because he is "intense". What makes it sad is that he both skilled and gifted, so he doesn't need to cheat. He just chooses to. Bowen, he has to play dirty, he's got nothing else.
