Who had the better performance:
Tony parker: 55 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, and a shot that made it go into the 2nd overtime.
Amare stoudemire: 49 points (not to mention 2 points were taken away), 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, 2 blocks and a monster dunk on jeff foster.

I think that amare had the best performance not to be bias I think he had a better percentage from the field, and not to mention he played great defense with 5 steals and 2 blocks.

Who do you think had the better performance? Thoughts on there performances.

Amare won IMO. He did much better. He had more boards, steals, and blocks.
He was almost perfect from the field. He was like 17 for 21.

Amaré because he did it on both ends and IN regulation. This coming from a Spurs fan. He seems to really commit to defense more than in the past. Could it be the Horace Grant goggles also came with the defensive prowess?

Def was Amare. He was in beast mode.
Parker needed two extra quarters to get those stats.

It's pretty even I'd say. Both teams were not playing well and if not for Amare or TP, their respective teams would have lost.
Parker literally makes the team go. So what makes it extremely impressive is he assisted on 20pts as well(assuming they were all 2's). So he was responsible for at least 75 points.
Amare's dominance allowed the shooters to get easy looks.
Neither opponent had a dominent player at the opposing position either.

Man, if Parker will ever get a consistent jump shot he'll be dominating like this more often. He is already the best in traffic finisher at his position...with Rondo and Paul being close seconds.

In Derrick Rose I see glimpses of that finishing ability as well...but he has the hops and strength added to that. Pretty scary thought, huh?

Not even close. Amare was beastly.

Its pretty even and tough to say because they play completely different positions, but good point by other posters saying that Amare got his in regulation when Parker needed double O.T. I'm just happy to see Amare focusing so much on D and showing his better overrall game.

I didn't see either game sadly, but double nickels is pretty sick, regardless of how many quarters, plus the spurs needed every last point, and it wasn't going to come from anywhere else, and they really needed that win, plus TP sent it to double OT. Neither performance was better persay, but I think TP was more important...

Amare had the better game, he tore the Pacers front-line to shreds last night. Amare's defense was much better than previous seasons. And to do all that in regulation is pretty impressive. Tony Parker had great game but he took an extra ten minutes to do it. And he was 22-36 from the field while Amare was 17-21 and 15-15 from the FT line.

Both players did what it took to make there Team win. They play diff positions so it's hard to say who did better.

Well I expect from time to time for Amare to have huge numbers, I really don't expect that from Parker especially not 50 points.

Amare > Parker. When healthy Amare can go off for 40+ points on 60+ % shooting seemingly at will.

Parker has never scored 40+ points in his career until last night.

My vote goes to Tony Parker, great game from him. I could not believe he scored 55 pts, you don't expect that from him. He's a great player, but I have never seen him come close to that type of offensive production in one game.

I completely agree with this.

I also was muched impressed with TP's 55 points even if it is in Overtime. The reason is that most would be expecting this kind of performance from Amare time to time. He is this dominant and unstoppable when he gets going but who in the world would even expect Parker to have scored this much :speechless: (and he is playing for the Spurs who focuses more on D rather than on offense) plus he had 10 assists and do not forget the 7 rebs.

He was also the one that was saving the Spurs from lossing yesterday even his clutch shot at the end of the 1st overtime

I say TP's stats meant more because they were 0-3 and had to win. TP stepped up. It was still a beastly game for both players, though.

Imagine if amare had a long range game I think he would've been far from 49 points. So getting all those points with just 2 pointers and free throws is crazy parker shot threes so its easy when your shooting a lot of shots. But amare was 17-21 and that's unbelievable not to mention the other numbers he put up so amare 4 MVP 2008-2009 who's with me.

Even though I did not see either of the performance I think Amare's was more impressive but Tony's more important.

Amare was literally just beasting. Imagine missing only 4 shots in a whole game. Plus in Regulation w.o OT. Also pitched in assists steals and blocks.

Actually, I watched the game, and thought Amare's defense was pretty horrid.

Sure he racked up steals and blocks, but this isn't Fantasy Basketball. Stats don't win you games. When you're letting your man get by you on every possession, they're going to take more shots (thus allowing you to get more blocks), and the opposing team is going to funnel the basketball inside more (giving you more opportunities for steals). Amare's offense (his presence was dominating - allowing for more assists and easy dunks) was unbelievable, but it was necessary to overcome his defensive deficiencies.

I thought TP's game was much better. This is coming from a Suns fan, too.

i'm just gonna give it a tie. neither one of them put up 40 holla at me when they do that. lol naw they were both impressive. it seemed like they were force feeding stat though. and what i got from the hers game is that tony was scoring like that because he had too for them to win. this is coming from somebody that can't stand niether damn team.

Amare is only good defensively because he is wearing Horace Grants magic goggles now :p
