He wore #4 in College but, Kenyon wears #4

He's worn #1 throughout his NBA career but, JR is #1

I could see JR letting Chauncey wear #1 and JR would go back to #23 like he was in New Orleans...

I guarantee JR's Jersey is selling to some extent, so I doubt Chauncey is gonna pay the manufacturers for the cost of already producing JR's jersey. I suspect he'll take on a new number.

Billups' numbers game

By Chris Tomasson
Rocky Mountain News
Chauncey Billups evidently didn't feel he was jinxed the last time he played in Denver.
Billups wore No. 4 while with the Nuggets from 1998-2000, and averaged a pedestrian 12.7 points. He made it only about halfway through 1999-2000, suffering a shoulder injury in December 1999 and being traded Feb. 1, 2000 to Orlando.
But what number did Billups want when he returned to Denver in Monday's trade?
"From what I heard, he wants (Kenyon Martin's) number,'' said Nuggets guard J.R. Smith, referring to No. 4, which Billups also wore when he starred at the University of Colorado from 1995-97.
Well, Martin, who switched from No. 6 to No. 4 last season, wasn't giving that up. So Billups will wear No. 7.
But what about No. 1, which Billups wore in Detroit while having his greatest-ever days? Smith said Billups didn't want it, although Smith was jokingly asked if would be willing to sell it if Billups did.
"I don't need the money,'' said Smith, who recently signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract.

POLL UPDATE: The election might be over, but the George Karl poll is still active. On Monday, regarding the trade in which the Nuggets acquired Billups and gave up Allen Iverson, Karl said he was "51 percent sad because Allen is gone and 49 percent excited because we got a point guard.''
But there's been a change.
"I think I'm 55-45,'' Karl said. "I think 55 percent of me is excited.''
Stay tuned for more on the Karl excitement meter.rocky (http://blogs.rockymountainnews.com/nuggets/archives/2008/11/billups_numbers.html)

wow, is that a burn to AI or is he truly just excited?

No dis to AI. Karl really, really liked him.

But his starting pg isn't Anthony Carter anymore. What NBA coach wouldn't be excited about that?
