If the Cardinals don't have LT Mike Gandy (ankle) in Week 10 against the 49ers, they will start Levi Brown on Kurt Warner's blind side.

The teams don't play until Monday night, so Gandy has an extra day to get healthy and probably won't practice early this week. Brown, the No. 5 overall pick in 2007, would be replaced by Elton Brown at right tackle.

The Cardinals are expected to promote first-round pick Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the starting lineup this week.

Eric Green will likely to move nickel back with DRC covering the opponent's No. 2 receiver going forward. Rodgers-Cromartie's impact so far hasn't been obvious with no interceptions, but Green tends to get picked on.

Cardinals rookie LB Ali Highsmith suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury in Week 9 against St. Louis.

An undrafted rookie, Highsmith made the Cards this summer and had been a special teams contributor to this point. His loss won't hurt the defense.

good luck cards fans..u may not need it because u guys are on a roll..but at least we dont have jto so we'll see..

Ken Wisenhunt stood by his decision to replace Edgerrin James with Tim Hightower at running back, saying the rookie will start again in Week 10.

"I'm excited about the way he played, but let's be very clear about this: The reason he played is because he worked hard and earned (it)," Wisenhunt said. Hightower has a nice matchup against the 49ers on Monday night coming up.

Ken Whisenhunt was optimistic tight end Leonard Pope (ankle) could resume practicing this week.

The Cardinals don't use Pope much in the passing game, so stick to other tight end options.

The Cardinals listed Larry Fitzgerald on their initial Week 10 injury report as a would-be "limited" participant Wednesday.

NFL rules require teams that don't hold practice (Arizona did not Wednesday) to issue hypothetical injury reports. Fitz was listed with a thumb injury. He should still be all systems go for Monday night against the 49ers.

11-06-2008, 10:19 PM
Larry Fitzgerald (thumb) was limited in Thursday's practice.

Check back Friday to see if Fitz is listed as questionable, but that seems unlikely. He has an extra day for the thumb to heal before Monday's game.

Cardinals TE Leonard Pope (ankle) still hasn't resumed practicing and isn't expected to be ready for Week 10.

Pope has appeared in six games this season and has just five catches.

11-08-2008, 11:57 AM
Larry Fitzgerald returned to a full practice on Friday and is no longer on the Cardinals Week 10 injury report.

Fitz was limited in Wednesday and Thursday's work with a thumb injury, but he will start in a gorgeous matchup against the 49ers. Look for the speedy wideout to burn 49ers RCB Walt Harris all over the field on Monday night.

Leonard Pope (ankle) returned to a full practice Friday and is listed as questionable to play in Week 10.

If Pope is active Monday night, it will be surprising if he catches more than one pass. He's averaging less than a grab per game in six appearances.

11-09-2008, 11:57 AM
Cardinals CB Eric Green (questionable, knee) missed practice Saturday.

The usual starter will be a game-time decision Monday night. Rookie Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to start regardless, with Green at nickel back if he plays.

11-10-2008, 12:50 PM
big game for the cards to gain moe padding in the division lead. we gotta pull this one out and own our division.

11-10-2008, 08:53 PM
Cardinals declared WR Early Doucet, third QB Brian St. Pierre, CB Eric Green, OT Elliot Vallejo, OT Brandon Keith, DT Alan Branch, TE Jerame Tuman, and TE Ben Patrick inactive for Monday Night Football.

Doucet is a healthy scratch. Leonard Pope will start at tight end. Green has dropped all the way down the depth chart after losing his starting gig to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. DRC will get the start at right corner.

Cardinals are screwed. All of the analysts picked them to win and they won every state and 87% of the voting in the online poll.

I was sitting row 10 in the corner endzone where the goal line stop happened. greatest sports game ive ever attended. INSANE.

11-12-2008, 07:52 PM
even though that should've been our game and you took it from us leaving our fans emotionally drained, i've gotta hand it to you, you're restoring pride back to the NFC west.

Oh but I'm still pissed about that steve young career ending hit.
