i think this is LeBron's year. if he continues playing the way he has, he's got a great shot at it.

This is a dumb thread, way to early to predict and kobe has not played better than wade....How the heck you can have all those other losers in there and not wade look at his stats! Besides it still to early. PLEASE CLOSE!!

Lebron's team has to have the W's for him to be in the running.

Paul, someone on Houston, Kobe are the main contenders...

Kobe Bryant - as long as the Lakers are the best team in the West, he will be MVP.

It's Kobes to win again unless someone can take it from him. Chris Paul has the best shot IMO nobody else is really that close.

IF the Rockets are a #1 or 2 seed tho Artest will be the reason so he may be in the race

if the west is as competitive as last year, it will be the best player on the top western team. the way i see it, that leaves it to either kobe or paul. if the east and west are relatively even competitively (doubtful..), then an eastern conference player has a shot. it will either be the best player on the best team (probably celtics), or lebron if cavs finish top 3 in east and he has big season

Do you mean averaging 19 PPG on 43% shooting and 0% from three point land (9 attempts)?

He has a great shot if he plays like that.

CP3. Not sure how Kobe stole it last year w/ his fabulous lakers team.
Posey is going to give him that boost, making him look even better. As the leader of a great defensive team. Look for CP3 to get zeke/stockton numbers this year

Derek Fisher
Vladimir Radmanovic
Lamar Odom
Pau Gasol

vs

Mo Peterson
Peja Stojakovic
David West
Tyson Chandler

oh come on, the rest of the Hornets team is just as good, if not better than last year's LA team.

Chris Paul...if he stays healthy and the Hornets keep winning it's his to lose. No team relies more on it's superstar than New Orleans.

How come?

Ty Chandler has no offense without Paul...Peterson and Peja are severely limited. West is a stud on the block and high post...but he doesn't have the versatile all-round skills that Gasol and Odom possess. Even without Bynum Kobe has a much more potent supporting cast. He still deserved the MVP last year...but it wasn't because he had less to work with.

FACT:

Paul plays with two former allstars (Peja & West)
Kobe plays with one former allstar (Pau)
