I pretty much agree with that list. Although Houston is really hit and miss. We may not know with this team until a little later in the season because of their injury history, T-Mac is continuing his struggle from last year, and the attitude of Artest. I need to see more from them.

Hornets

Teams that are close to elite status:

Rockets (it's always a question of health with this team, T-Mac was limping around this passed thursday.)

Pistons (Same team as last year, new coach, team is aging)

Cavs (They still have issues scoring in the halfcourt set, they need a low post scorer or another perimeter scorer to help Lebron)

Mavs (Depth seems to be the issue for this team, also defense is still a concern)

Playoff teams that don't have enough to win a title:

Magic
Suns
Raptors
Sixers

the issue here isnt health, its does a team need to avoid other teams to win it all. i say in that aspect houston is definitely elite. they came back to win by 12 over the mavs without scola or tmac playing in the 4th. thats a deep team

Trust me, the Rockets have to be healthy in order to compete for a title. When they face teams like the Celtics, Lakers, Hornets, and the Jazz, they need a healthy T-Mac and Yao.

every team needs to be healthy to win it all. The Lakers could have used Bynum in the finals big time. The Spurs could have used a healthy Manu against the Lakers, and so on. You don't win the titile unless you have all major pieces. If the Lakers lose Odom, or Gasol, for example, they aren't strong enough. Same for the Hornets if the lose West, or Peja.

Although I'm a little iffy about the Hornets. If they get solid production from their bench, then yeah.

So far the Jazz have a better bench than New Orleans.

Agreed. The Hornets bench is extremely weak. Chris Paul and West are already racking up big minutes while a team like the Lakers have their main stars barely playing (blowouts).

Pretty good lists, but I'd move San Antonio up in both of them. Once they get Manu back on their bench, it's just a matter of staying healthy, IMO. We've seen that Tony Parker is capable of carrying the team when he needs to, and Tim Duncan isn't so old that he can't give them 20 and 10 in the play-offs. They can still play defense, too.

I think the Rockets can win it alll, but it depends on how Yao plays, he needs to be more physical, to soft

The Bulls bro?? I'd be happy if we could just get the 7th seed in the east.

Nobody saying Toronto and Philly? I agree, but there's a ton of bandwagon for those two teams this year, surprised they get no love in this thread.
