View Full Version : Shane Battier Trade

I was thinking about possible deals the Cavaliers could make if they were gonna deal Wally. And then Shane Battier came to mind. He's a great defensive player, consistent perimeter shooter, a hussler, competitor and could fit in well with our team. And it also makes sense for Houston because they just got Artest, and I'm pretty sure they'd want to sign him to a new contract and Wally's expiring contract could be very tempting.

I wouldn't mind it.

I not sure Rockets would do that trade. I think we could get someone better then Shane Battier at the trade dead line.

we need to address our front court when we trade wally i would like to get a true 4 or 5 i feel like Battier is more of a 3

I would do it. Rockets get money for Artest, Cavs get a good player in return.

I understand he isnt the best available option, but if we can't trade him for the star we've been hoping for, I think he could be a good solid addition to our team.

I would love to have Battier on our team. He would likely start at SF & slide LeBron over to SG.

But as many have said, I see no reason that Houston would make this trade. At this point, Battier > Wally. The Rockets aren't worried about cap flexibility right now.

They're going all-in this season with Artest. Trading Battier for Wally right now would contradict that. If they don't win this season or at least advance past the 1st round they could end up letting Artest walk & then listen to offers for T-Mac & Battier.

Battier is on a team built to win. He still has a purpose for the Rockets.
