16. You will see three teams win 60-plus games this year.

Boston, New Orleans and Los Angeles. The Lakers will finish with the best record because they're built for an 82-game season -- they go 11-deep and two-deep at every position, they can throw every type of look at you (big, small, medium, whatever) and they won't let down competitively night to night because of Kobe. They also upgraded at two spots from the team that nearly won last year: Ronnie Turiaf to Andrew Bynum ("upgrade" isn't a strong enough word there), and Slightly Tentative Jordan Farmar to Shockingly Better Jordan Farmar (he has looked fantastic). The 2008-09 Lakers are loaded. On paper. And that's the key. Because the playoffs come down to four things: Chemistry, defense, toughness and crunch-time scoring. The Lakers failed in all four categories in last year's Finals and that's why they lost. Will they be able to get stops next spring? Will they get pushed around again like they did in June? Will they quit when the going gets tough like they did in Game 6 of the Finals? Again, they look fantastic on paper ... but I don't see it translating into a title. Too many variables.

Bill Simmons exaggerates badly on everything....he is really bad at predicting the NBA....he picked the Cavs to win the championship over the Hornets....

I don't think Washington will be in the lottery I mean they were still able to get in the playoffs last season without Gilbert so they might be able to do it again.

even as a Heat fan, I must say that 5th in the East is a stretch. Maybe 7th or 8th, but I just can't project them ahead of the Sixers and Raps at this point.

Bill Simmons is a moop! He hates on Elton now because we stole him from his "other team" and made the Sixers stronger competitors of his "real team"

Spurs over Lakers in the second round? That's laughable. The Lakers whooped the Spurs last year, and the Lakers are better this year, while the Spurs are just getting old. Anyway, how do you predict a 48-win team to beat a 66-win team in the playoffs. Get a clue Bill...

Simmons is funny, but he goes way overboard. I will say it here, not one team wins 60 games. And his Boston bias knows no boundries.

Ginoboli was at around 50%. How is it laughable that the Spurs, who have won 3 titles with their current core, could beat the Lakers, who haven't won squat with their current core?

its laughable cuz we basically dominated. was it 5 games? n now u wanna play ur excuse cards? ginobli was ATLEAST at 75% n thats NOTHING compared to bynum and ariza at 0% meaning they didnt even play in that series.. now with those two and our younger players getting better while all ur old guys are just getting older minus brent barry, elson and who ever else it just seems u guys are sweepable.. 0-2.. u guys are playing well i must say lol jk.. i know theres no ginobli.. n IMO hes ur main guy.. duncans greatness is over rated cuz he's never had a bad team.. first was another superstar in robinson with a great cast. now ever since its been two all stars in ginobli and parker who is also a finals mvp and had the second best bench last year........ behind who? oh ya.. the LA Lakers

Actually they won the Western Conference Championship. What has your team done lately? Don't forget Lakers also got better.
