Oden out at least two weeks

The Blazers expect Greg Oden to miss between two to four weeks after MRI confirms foot sprain.

Yea on ESPN during the Suns-Spurs halftime show they just said Oden is out 2-4 weeks. Crappy either way. Now he's gotta rest and get back into game shape AGAIN.

Its Sam Bowie all over again. I saw this coming when he started at Ohio State, i knew his knees would get to him and he would be injury prone. He could've been an all-star but i just dont see it!

The Oregonian is reporting that Greg Oden will miss just two-to-four weeks (6-to-14 games), while the Associated Press is going with a four-to-six week timeframe.
We're tempted to believe the Oregonian, which is alway very thorough in their coverage of the Blazers. So for now, consider Oden out anywhere from two-to-six weeks until we get a consensus from the press on his mid-lateral foot sprain injury. In a press release from the Blazers, the team said Oden has a "couple of avulsions," or fractures, but the injuries are not serious and will not require surgery. Oct. 29 - 9:22 pm et

33 games in 3 years now? Damn. This sucks for him. Now he is going to have to wait until December to play. Not to mention the fact that he was already huffing and puffing down the court. Now he is going to become less conditioned.

I bet the Blazers are wishing they picked Kevin Durant with there draft pick.

espn.com and nba.com both say 2-4 weeks. but if some places say 2-4 and others say 4-6, its probably closer to 4 weeks..

Dang, it's been a rough couple of yrs. for Greg, hopefully he can make a speedy recovery. It's unfortunate to see him injured so often, the good new is it's only 2 to 4 wks.

I don't think Oden will have a major injury soon. But he'll have some minor injuries from time to time.

...but keep in mind that he's clearly not injury prone.

I honestly feel bad for him, because he has a ton of talent. It just happens to be apparent that his greatest ally is also his greatest weakness. (If you don't understand, his huge body is how he got the gig, but that same body can't stay healthy either.)

good luck to him. but he seriously needs to do something about his injuries. he had one before preseason as well, right? ow..

So what exactly caused this foot sprain?

I find it hard to believe that it just happened by itself, and I definitely have a hard time believing it has anything to do with injury prone. Isn't a foot sprain some random thing that can happen to any unlucky player?

Seems like Oden got off to a false start. I watched that game, and he really looked like he was playing scared of using his body in the paint. On a couple of plays he got the ball and should just have made a move to the basket at once, but instead he made a little fake or side-move, and his scoring attempt ended up botched because of it. I wonder how much he was bothered by his foot and if it caused him to play the way he did.

As soon as he learns how to control his power he will be much more dangerous. Players like Pau Gasol won't be able to defend him as soon as he realizes he can just overpower them.

He was injured in the first 3 minutes, he was limping after that. He landed on Fisher's foot as Bynum was applying pressure to his back, which made him twist his ankle. It's a freak injury, claiming this makes him injury prone is pretty dumb.

Really? He only averaged like 14ppg in high school when he won player of the year, his O sucks, he might be pretty good at D, but I don't see his scoring being higher than 16ppg in his best season.
