I don't have any problems with that. Changing up the lines wouldn't hurt at this point.

Disagree... Staal needs to stay at center. He is a sucky winger. I'm not a Staal fan, but he has played much better at center in the last handfull of games then he did starting the year at center. Leave him there...

I'm torn about Geno and Sid playing together. While I think that they are good together because they think alike and are both elite players, it was always nice to put them together late in games when we needed a goal... we lose that the way things currently are.

I am definitely not sold on Satan being a first line winger and I like the way that Dupuis has played with Sid and Geno.

I say leave things alone for now and see how the road trip goes. They have been playing well despite falling asleep in the 3rd period against the Rangers, but I really believe that points to coaching.

Also, as anyone else been really impressed with Eric Goddard's play? Not just the fighting (where he really kicks ***) but in his pursuit of the puck and energy. Nice pick-up Ray!

Goddard is a lousy skater but hes doing alright just has to cut down on the stupid minor penalties he takes. But staal at wing will take time and take some time to get the chemistry back just give it time, we are a better team when sid and geno r apart and we still have the option of putting them together late. I think tyler kennedy should play with sid hes fast he plays down low and has a good shot i really want to see him up there could be huge for us.
also like i said before really liked daryl sydor in there weve been better since hes been in there. bench eaton when gill gets back

id rather see

for the scornig lines

10-27-2008, 09:38 PM
I'd like to see

Staal, Crosby, Sykora
Satan, Malkin, Fedotenko
Cooke, Talbot, Kennedy
Dupuis, Ziggy, Goddard

10-27-2008, 10:01 PM
Honestly I don't think changing a line makes a difference right now. We need to cut stupid penalties then we be fine. Also we need to be aggressive and control the puck more then we are on offensive and defense.

10-28-2008, 10:21 AM
When you have the forwards we have we dont need to win games 2-1 more can be done. Sykora and Malkin cleary have a chemistry and should be a must to stay together. Also i really think they need to give Kennedy a shot with Crosby and satan or maybe Staal considering how good Kennedy and Staal played together last year.

Fedotenko - Crosby - Dupuis
Cooke - Malkin - Sykora
Satan - Staal - Kennedy
Bisonette - Zigomanis - Goddard

Penguins to use new lines against Phoenix
Wednesday, October 29, 2008
By Shelly Anderson, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Penguins coach Michel Therrien reworked the team's forward line combinations at practice today at HP Pavilion, separating leading scorers Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby.

The move came a day after the Penguins were held to 11 shots, tying a franchise low, in a 2-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. They flew to Phoenix after practice to play the Coyotes tomorrow night.

Crosby had been playing with Malkin and Pascal Dupuis. Ruslan Fedotenko replaced Malkin, with Dupuis remaining -- although Dupuis was hit by a shot and left practice early. There was no immediate word on his status.

Malkin, who leads the team with 15 points, is back at center, between left winger Matt Cooke and right winger Petr Sykora.

Jordan Staal, who had been centering the second line, remained in the middle but moved to the third line between Miroslav Satan and Tyler Kennedy.

The fourth line has Mike Zigomanis with wingers Paul Bissonnette and Eric Godard.

Center Max Talbot remained out with an undisclosed injury.

Not a bad idea to shake up the lineup right now.

I don't know but that's weird. Bissonnette a LW not a defensemen

10-29-2008, 10:13 PM
that is what i thought^

Bissonette was a D-man in the AHL/ECHL last season. The Pens moved him to LW during camp.

Good to see he split them up. It looked like they were trying to look for the other guy to much instead of playing there game i think we will see some improvement in the team but especially malkin

From penguins.nhl.com (http://penguins.nhl.com)

Sidney Crosby will play against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night despite suffering an undisclosed injury two days ago.

Crosby left Pittsburgh's matchup on Thursday against the Phoenix Coyotes after two shifts in the third period when he felt "discomfort." He did not return in that game and was listed as day-to-day.

Crosby had a chance to rest on Friday because the Penguins did not practice.

> Ruslan Fedotenko skated off the ice in the middle of the Penguins morning skate with an undisclosed injury. He will be scratched for Saturday night's game and has been listed as day-to-day.

Pascal Dupuis was placed on the injured-reserve list with an undisclosed injury. Dupuis' IR status will be retroactive to Oct. 28 against San Jose.

> With the extra roster spot the Penguins recalled forward Janne Pesonen, who has nine points (2G-7A) in nine games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

[B]Pesonen will make his NHL debut Saturday night against St. Louis. He will be on a line with Evgeni Malkin and Petr Sykora.

The Malkin line is the only confirmed line combination. With Fedotenko's injury and Crosby's late green light, head coach Michel Therrien juggled his combinations in practice.

> Darryl Sydor will be in the lineup for the Penguins defense. Mark Eaton will miss his first game of the season as a healthy scratch. The defensive pairings in practice were: Brooks Orpik-Kris Letang; Hal Gill-Rob Scuderi; Darryl Sydor-Alex Goligoski.

> Therrien officially named Scuderi and Gill as the Penguins alternate captains for the month of November. Therrien notified the defensemen at the team's morning skate. He said in the beginning of the season that he will rotate the alternate captaincy each month. Malkin and Orpik were alternate captains for the month of October.
