could he still average 20 and 10? in pheonix he will get his chance to at least get 10; thats 5 shots. add in offensive rebounds and freethrows and what do you guys think?

maybe 10/10 but not 20/10

I think he is def. capable of 15/10. However, he would be best utilized at 10/10... He definitely isn't the dominate scorer he used to be but still has gas in the tank... haha

That's what I was thinking

A motivated Shaq: is still fat and old.

but if he got enough looks, sure.

maybe 16 and 10. but he won't be averaging 20 points.

I think it would depend. 20/10 on like 45% FG is bad for the team. 15/10 on like 55% FG is good for the team. Depends on what he wants to do.

He could put up 20/10 if he decided to take the shots. He has Nash and Amare who will take much more shots than him. He will occasionally have the 20/10 games, but it wont happen on an average for a season - those days are done. If he averages 15/10, that will be massive for the Suns

i think he's capable of 20/10. i remember the days of like 29/12.
but now he' more like a 16/10 guys. 17/10 at best
he doesnt get to the line as much anymore
maybe once amare learns to rebound shaq will be getting sumin like 15/9
if shaq was smarter he'd get more assists in his old days to be more affective. hes a great passer.

i see his points coming this way. 15... MAYBE 16 all together between 6 or 7 of 10-12 shooting from the field meaning he'll score between 6 and 7 of his own shots. whether its a put back or an offensive rebound or maybe even one of his flashback shaq moments. the rest will come from the freethrow line (3 of like 7)

No, hes simply not capable of dominating every frontcourt on a consistent basis anymore, he lacks the lift in his game.

15/9 or 16/10 would be the max I can see now.

Maybe like 15/10 but his 20/10 days are gone. That's Amare's role now.

SensandRaps

maybe 12/10 but considering his role on phoenix with nash and amare their if shaq does get 12/10 that would be good for him and the suns

Shaq is a 12/7 guy now.... no where even close to 20/10

A motivated Shaq is still old, but not fat. I think he could do it, but it will take a ton of effort, and he will have had to done a lot of working out and healthy eating over the summer.

At this point in his career, I don't think Shaq can put up those type of numbers throughout an 82 game season. However, I do think Shaq can have a major impact on winning, his presence alone makes it tough for opposing teams to get to the basket. He also can help the team by both his offensive and defensive rebounding. I think he can still average about 15ppg 10 rpg.

CAN he, i believe he could in the right situation. But WILL he, no thats not his role anymore. I can see him settling around 14 points with 9-10 rebounds. which isnt bad amongst centers these days.

He was motivated once the trade occurred last season and he didn't even put up 13ppg. I think the ceiling for Shaq on his new team is closer to 13/10.

I think shaq could average 20/10 if the nba quits being soft and let shaq overpower people like he used to and quit calling offensive fouls on him

The difference is, now he's had a full off-season to get back into shape and stuff. I don't know whether he has or not, but if he is motivated, and has got in shape, I think he could still possibly get 20/10.

Amare is probably going to be the only one averaging 20+ points per game for the Suns. Shaq could average 15 and 10, but it depends on how many touches he gets.

I think Shaqfu's best days are behind him.

Fat Shaq does not equal The Big Cactus.

If Shaq hit his throws he could still average 20 ppg.

thats what you say now. but he will probably be sluggish from not playing that much.
wait till he has to play full games.
i expect the same fat, slow, big man we have seen from him lately.
effective when hes got the ball near the hoop, but still bad cardio, and not the great shaq of old.

If he was motivated from the end of last season all the way through the summer though, then he would have really worked hard and his stamina wouldn't be an issue because he'll be starting the season in shape.

I agree with you though, I've not heard anything about him working intensively this off-season, he'll be solid for the Suns, but not anything close to the way he used to be.

just wondering. IDK something in me is saying that he could get 20 and 10 still. Like it could be possible even with Amare being the man because Amare will draw so much attention. with that being said, I dont see it as being likely at all. I dont even think he'll get the 10 boards in all honesty. All analysts are claiming Amare's numbers will rise too and that vexes me considering the slowed tempo will cut opportunities for every statistic. all said and done, i think shaq could do it, but will likely have something around 10-15 and 8ish. amare will probably stay consistant with his scoring and IDK if his rebounding will drop considering the new change of pace. I sincerely doubt theyll rise like ive seen a lot of people elsewhere claim, but i digress

I foresee something like 15/12 per 36-minutes but only being able to stay on the floor for 25 minutes a game, making his overall numbers unimpressive but his impact when he's in still solid.

aren't the Suns slowing down the offense??

12/9 would be good @ this point..besides, it's not what he averages, it's how disinterested he plays(if he plays) from November to February.

more like 16/10. however, on any given night he's capable with a good PG passing to him and if he makes his FT.
