I'm really looking forward to the Cavs - Celtics game. This was one of the best series in the playoffs last season, if not the best, and I'm really excited to see these two teams get back at it. Also, I really want to see what Mo Williams can bring to the Cavs.

Some things I'm looking toward to in each game:

Cavs v.s Celtics

How Mo Williams and LeBron work together.
How the Celtics do without James Posey.

Bulls v.s Bucks

The play of Derrick Rose and the rotations at that guard position.
How well the trio of Redd-Jefferson-Bogut will play

Lakers v.s Blazers
Bynum v.s Oden

Some Cleveland Cavaliers Facts

When the Cavs reached the NBA Finals in 2006-07, they were the fourth-best defensive team in the league in the regular season, with a rating of 102.8. And they were the best defensive team in the playoffs, with a rating of 101.4.

Last season, the Cavs fell off defensively in the regular season, ranking 11th in the league with a rating of 107.9. But they were once again the top defensive team in the postseason (even better than the Celtics), with a rating of 103.2. And of course, they were a possession or two from knocking off Boston in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

"I thought our guys did a great job, especially late in the season, of picking it up on the defensive end of the floor," Cleveland coach Mike Brown said Tuesday. "And then in the playoffs the last two years, we were the best defensive team out there. And that says a lot, because we played a lot of games."

Don't be surprise if the Cavaliers advance in the NBA Finals next year because i agree with the author that the Cavaliers need to improve their offense because our team is already one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.

This is the year that the Cavaliers are going to win the Central Division, and maybe next year is the start of the LeBron James Era in the NBA.

Cavs are no longer a boring team.

Top Notch Defensive Team in the playoffs Plus Good Offense Plus LeBron James= Another Trip into the NBA Finals.

I would like to see that as well. I can see either team getting past Detroit in the playoffs, and I also think that Cleveland wins their division this season. Good chance that these two teams meet up again this postseason, probably in the ECF like you said, especially if the Cavs take the Central.

Yeah, their defense has always been top notch. They have a bunch of those type of hustle players that don't need to be involved offensively to hustle on defense. Those are the kind of players that every team needs but not too many teams have. If the Cavs can figure things out offensively and get somebody other than James and Big Z going they should be pretty solid. For them to be successful I think we need to see Williams and Big Z both average about 15ppg with Lebron maybe toning down the scoring a bit so it's not such a one man show (26ppg or so).

Great first half for the Cavs. They showed great hustle and determination, while playing great defense. They have made Allen and Garnett almost non existent, forcing Paul Pierce to carry the load. Lebron had decent first half, getting the teammates involved and scoring when needed.

The Celtics seem to be missing the presence of Posey. The hustle plays he provided, and even knocking down that jumper will be sorely missed. So far, Tony Allen has not been able to be the Posey off the bench, something they hoped coming into this season.

I like how Lebron just stepped forward to take that last jumper instead of steeping back and chucking up a 3....he took that shot within the rhythm of the offense and if he does that more I think his outside shooting will improve....focus more on the midrange game and he will be more unstoppable than he already is.....

Doug Collins has been saying that Oden doesn't look like he's 100% yet. So I'm sure that has something to do with it. And also, it's only his first career game, and it wouldn't be realistic to think he can come in on day 1 and play like an All - Star.

Final Score: Celtics 90 VS Cavs 85

Cavs:

Lebron James: Lebron was 9-21 in field goals scoring 22 points, 6 assist and 7 boards. He showed some espn top highlight all-opp dunks and put up good numbers like he always does but one of the things that he needed to work on was shooting. It does not look like he worked much of that going 0-4 from 3s. He did not come threw in the clutch much but who else is he gonna give it to in the 4th quarter? He played decent defense with 2 steals and 1 block but he could of done better. Especially when the cavs played really good D in the first half.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas: Big-Z was 3-5 in field goals and 9-10 from the FT line making his point total 15 also adding 8 boards. Beside having 4 turnovers he played pretty well IMO. Infact i thought he should of got more touches looking at the amount of times in the FT line and going 3-5 FG and get's 15 points. Not really much else to say beside that.

Mo Williams: Mo went 4-10 in FG while also shooting 3-5 from the 3s. He got 4 turnovers and almost fouling out with 5 fouls. This is the first game but this is what i pretty much expect him to do the whole season. Not really much stats but on team with lebron he will avg 12 or 13. He looked well from down town considering he was actually the only one that made any 3s at all. He did not really play what Cavs fans expected him to be but beside the downsides to his game today, he looked pretty well.

Delonte West: West went 2-4 FG and 2-2 from the FT line making it 6 points. Was not really active on the court that much so the only thing i can say about him is the fact that i am kind of surprised he would start at SG and thought Sasha would take that role. But it seems they wanted his defense and his shooting more then Sasha's.

Ben Wallace: Ben went 1-1 FG with 4 boards and 1 block. Pretty does what he always does, gets more boards then points :p.

The Bench: they had 28 points and 5 assts with 8 turnovers in total. Anderson Varejao came up pretty big with 9 points, 9 boards and 3 steals. But the others...not so much...

Celtics:

Paul Pierce: He went 10-19 in FG with 27 points, 4 asst and 3 boards. He was the player of the game in this one helping the Celtics come back while being down by 14 one time and took the victory. Not the all time great he claims to be but proving he's got some skill :p.

Kevin Garnett: He went 5-15 in FG with 11 points and 6 boards. Not a good game for KG but compared to how Ray did, i'll give him a break. He did show some aging in that game however, but this is only the first game of the season so don't expect to avg even close to this amount of numbers.

Ray Allen: He went 2-9 in FG, 1-4 from down town and going 3-4 at the FT line. Making it 8 points with 4 boards and 4 turnovers. A really bad game from the future HOFamer. I recall having a lot of open shots that he should of made but just could not knock em down. I'm not sure if this is just a bad game for him or he looks like he already does not have much in his system anymore. This is only the first game but this was a disappointing game for him.

Rajon Rondo: He went 4-5 in FG while shooting 6-10 from the FT in total going 14 points, 6 asst, and 3 steals 5 fouls. He showed a scare in the first half when he hurt his leg. But he got back on his feat and starting playing. So i'm pretty sure it is not serious at all. I thought this kid played really well and showed some really good potential out there.

Kendrick Perkins: Was 1-2 in FG and going 2 points with 8 boards while fouling out with 6. Not really much of a game for him at all beside the 8 boards. But you don't really expect him to put out much with the big 3 shooting the ball all the time.

The Bench: Great Job to Tony Allen and Lean Powe with a total of 24 points and 5 boards combined. I thought IMO that these guys were the key reasons for this victory by doing there job at the 2nd unit. Great job is all i have to say.

Lakers win with a 20 point blowout while using their new defensive strategy giving up only 76 points!

Blazers 76 VS Lakers 96

Blazers:

Brandon Roy: Roy went 5-15 in FG with 2-2 from the FT making it 14 points with 5 asst and 3 steals. He played really well on defense predicting the passes but just like the team in this game, not really much out of Roy.

Greg Oden: Oden went 0-4 in FG also going 0-2 from the FT line with a total of 0 points, 5 boards and 1 block in 13 min. Goes out of the game early in the game with a sprain foot and will be getting an MRI tomorrow. As for his game, He looked like Kwame Brown out there. Did the Blazers make a big mistake AGAIN drafting this guy when they could of had Durant? So far it looks like it does. He already missed a whole year last year and get's injured again. But you know what, this is only his very first game and only 20 years old. So don't kill him blazer fans just yet ;)

Travis Outlaw: going 8-15 in FG going 18 points with 4 boards. Kind of surprised he did better then Roy out there and he looked pretty under-rated out there.

LaMarcus Aldridge: 4-12 in FG going with 8 points, 4 boards and 2 blocks in this game. Not really good on offense but played pretty good defense out there but of course none of that mattered in this blowout.

Steve Blake: 3-8 in FG, also 3-6 from down town while racking up 9 points, 4 asst and 4 boards. Just like most of the players out there, not much out of him but looked like a true point guard otherwise.

The Bench: Rudy was pretty much the main guy in the 2nd unit going 5-10 with 16 points. Yet Joel Przybilla did ok with 11 boards and 4 points. the rest was just pitiful.

Lakers:

Kobe Bryant: went 9-17 with 23 points, 11 boards and 5 asst in 33 min. When ever the blazers looked like they were coming back, Kobe just kept stabbing them right in the heart by just taking over the 3rd quarter. Good performance from the raining MVP.

Andrew Bynum: went 4-10 in FG while doing 8 points, 3 boards and 3 blocks in 28 min of his first game back from his leg injury. He did some careless shots in the first half but in the 4th quarter it looked like he got a lot more comfortable and put up some nice moves.

Pau Gasol: 7-10 in FG with 15 points and 7 boards and 1 block. Had a hot first half but did not really do much after that. But overall considering going 7-10 and 7 boards, i give him a thumbs up :D.

Vladimir Radmanovic: 3-4 in FG also shooting 2-3 from down town while going 8 points, 4 boards and 4 steals. Wait a min did i just say 4 steals!? From Radmanovic!? well it looks like he's showing that he is worth the money by doing a great job in the preseason and in this game.

Derek Fisher: 2-8 in FG while shooting 4-4 from the FT line giving him 6 points, 5 boards and 2 asst. Not a good game offensively but played good defense.

The Bench: Ariza really showed that he deserved those min going 11 points, 2 blocks and 1 steal. The future sixth man of the year candidate Odom played pretty decent. The rest played extremely well defense which brought them this victory.

Great game from the Lakers tonight, they all looked sharp, especially on the defensive end. Kobe did a good job defending B. Roy and our transition game was solid. Good win.

I hate the Lakers but I also hate how hyped up and overrated the Blazers are so I'm glad LA took care of business, and let everyone else know that the Blazers aren't a force yet.

blazers will be fine they are a good squad...imagine if they had oden for the whole game....different story and outcome im afraid would have happened...so many ifs and thats why there are no guarantees unless its all rigged for ratings and money...i loathe the lakers as a franchise and its boring to watch them on national television all the time....30 teams in the league and its great to watch other ones play without all the hype and BS surrounding Los Angeles....its really boring

I think everyone should keep in mind Oden played 13 minutes and was injured for about 9 of those minutes...so judging him off of this game is bad business....hopefully he's ok and can improve throughout the season....

say what you want...you can't buy championships even though memphis practically tried to hand the los angeles one last season...its just not in the cards with this phony owner, coach, and entire atmosphere...its all way overblown as usual and they hopefully get what they deserve which is not a championship...other teams deserve better fate than los angeles and that will continue to happen as long as the rapist is free and buss dates 15 year olds

and I just laugh everytime for the last 10 years Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan have nothing else to say than to say how Kobe Bryant is like Jordan...not even close first of all and second of all the guy is 30 not 20 anymore...hes peaked and only young young players get comparisons...hes not Jordan never will be but hes a great player in this era where younger ones can be compared to him....its hilarious tho everytime TNT does a laker broadcast and Collins has to echo how Bryant is like Jordan....yea nice try doug....where's your allegiance when mike got you that wizards job? get real....

The Cavs have too many big men who think they can shoot. Ben Wallace and Anderson Varejao are hopeless when they think they can create their own offense. They are strictly rebounding and hustle guys. At the tip, Big Ben looked like a child trying to drive on KG, lol. He had one play where he overdribbled, causing a Celtics fast break in the process. I mean Ben Wallace, overdribbeling? He's so delusional of himself on offense. Meanwhile 'Hot potatoe' Varejao blew it with alot of bad passes. They both played like rookies. At least Carlito got some putbacks and played the passing lanes well. Big Ben was a complete dud.

The Cavs took a whole lot of bad shots (it was credit to the Celtics D as well). I like the aggressiveness that Tony Allen brings and Leon Powe continues to get better. Paul Pierce was the best player on the floor...but Powe deserves the game ball for attacking the soft Cavalier bigs. Perhaps Drew Gooden will be missed after all.

I liked how the Cavs used LeBron at the four to post up more...it creates alot of mismatches. At one point they had to have KG guarding Wally, a matchup that Brown didn't exploit to the fullest. If KG chases around perimeter players the Celtics are more vulnerable on the defensive glass.

i'm a portland fan but i thought they played very crap today
brandon roy's shooting and driving were all gone
greg oden injured AGAIN
AND THE COACH DIDNT PUT "SUMMER LEAGUE MVP" JERRYD BAYLESS ON (CRAPPIEST DECISION EVER)

lakers did quite well
gasol was on flames 1st half
bynum, fisher was ok
kobe on fire in 2nd half
radmanovic played his best game ever

lakers deserved that win i have to say

Bah! Oden gets injured and became a non-factor in his FIRST NBA-game and people already label him as a bust...what if he is healthy enough to play the NEXT game, hypothetically speaking, and puts up 13, 11 and 3 swatations. People will be singing a different tune and he is back to ROY candidate.

I wish people sometimes would be more patient, see how things unfold in the long run instead of opening their yaps too soon with 'I told you so'-cannon fodder. The sooner you draw your conclusions the more likely your argument ends up looking really bad in retrospect.

Greg Oden is 20 years old and had some bad breaks early in his career. Cut the kid some slack.

just like what 1 guy posted in the lakers forum, Oden looks like the reincarnation of Kwame Brown. Bynum is not doing great either but at least he's showing some moves out there. Still have a lot to learn but give the kid time :D.

Nobody was calling Bynum Kwame-The Second Coming when he struggled in his rookie season and barely got any PT.

Oden was hurt almost the entire time he played. It's really unfair to judge the guy by this ONE GAME already especially since he was hurt playing....

Loved the bench mob for the Lakers though! SICK! Even better this year with Ariza and Odom!!

LA DOMINATED with a bad game from bynum.. farmar, ariza and radman are showing they're helping. ariza was 2-2 from 3 pt range. if he keeps it p maybe he should start. odom off the bench seems pretty good. he needs to adjust a lil more. lakers are gonna be much better than they are right now by jan.. which is SCARY

No we were calling him names much worse. We bagged on our GM for drafting this fat bust. But then he started to work out and improve and he changed all our minds. Oden has a chance to do the same, but keep in mind, he is only 3 months younger than Bynum. Bynum was garbage at ages 17 18 and 19. Oden is about to be 21 very soon. He has to get healthy and start proving to people he is not a walking injury. I myself am rooting for the guy. He has a great personality and I like good guys to succeed. But he has broken his hand, messed up his knee getting off the couch, and now messed up his foot. Some guys just have bad luck
