Jason Kidd....he has brought his team to the Finals twice....been a top notch defender....been a supreme playmaker....and just been everything you could possibly want out of a true point guard.....Nash comes in a close 2nd.....

Although im a Kidd fan, I think its unfair to Nash to make Kidd the best PG in the last 8 years. Id give Kidd the 2000-2004 era and Nash the 2004-2008.

kidd. nash has mvp's but kidd has 2 finals appearances. kidd is a better passer and defender, and is a career good shooter too. hard to not choose the walking triple double threat on any given night

Kidd, he lead a bucnh of trash to the finals Twice, while Nash couldnt lead a Fuly talented squad to even 1.

Kidd is the thirde bsest Pg in the last 20 Years Behind Stockton and Thomas

and for me he is a solid 6th in all time PG after Magic, RObertson, Stockton,Thomas,Cousy

Nash and Kidd have been the best the past 8 years overall. I would give a slight edge to Kidd. These two have been beasts and they still are

As someone already stated, Kidd was defintely the best for 04-08. While he has declined, I'd still give the edge to Kidd. Honorable mentions to Steve Nash, Andre Miller, Chauncy Billups, and Tony Parker.

Steve Nash- Has 2 MVP Awards and has been to the playoffs the last 8 years. The furthest he has gone was the Western Conference Finals.

Jason Kidd- Has been to the playoffs the almost every year of his career and has taken his team to the finals in 2002 and 2003.

Kidd has 2000-2004 and Nash only has the 2004-2007, Paul stole the 2008 season :smoking:.

I think it is still Kidd though. Mr. Triple Double, Gold Medalist, took a dissmal team to the finals. Twice. If he can only have a jumper..

Steve Nash, One of only 7 players to ever win MVP 2 years in a row. Not to mention, he probably should have won a third. He's led the Suns to one of the franchises best eras, 232-96, Two Western Conference appearances and 4 consecutive Division Titles. He led the league in assists for 3 years straight while setting the league on fire with passes that hadn't been seen since the likes of Bob cousy. He was an All Star 6 times. (2002,2003,2005,2006,2007,2008) He will likely be remembered as one of the greatest three-point shooters of all time.

In the last 8 years? Kidd took his team to the finals twice, Nash won MVP twice. I'm going with Kidd, but it is pretty close. Chauncey is up there too.

J-Kidd without a doubt. Single handed took a franchise, NJ Nets, from the basement of the NBA to a well respected and at times feared NBA team. Since 2000, two trips the the NBA Finals, countless trips to the playoffs, and should have been named MVP in 2002. Not just one of the NBA's all time gratest point guards, but all time greatest floor generals and team leader.

Kidd from '00-'03. Nash '04-07. Paul '08. Anybody agree that Gilbert Arenas is definately up there though? He was a beast from like '04-'07, but wasn't noticed as much because of how well nash and the suns were playing, and that he was on a 40-45 win team

It could also easily be said that Shaq deserved it in 05 and Kobe and Lebron deserved it over him in 06.....I agree he deserved it in 07 though....but not the other years....

the best choice would have to be Kidd, but if nash was in the east, he could of brought his team to the finals also.

D@mn right my screen name was JJ_JKidd but I think I gave credit where credit was due when I said that Nash was best in '04-'08 and Kidd was best in 2000-2004 unlike the guy who said that Nash was the B E S T in 2000-2008. What significant thing did Nash do during 2000-2004 just a question?

Jason Kidd took the Nets to the Finals twice and got blown out...TWICE! That's when the Eastern Conference was horrible....I mean HORRIBLE! Switch Nash and Kidd and I say Nash can take them too.

The Suns were 29-53 before Nash arrived and he led them to a record of 62-20 the year he got there. ****ing amazing. He won MVP that year and the year his team WOULD HAVE gone to the Finals they got screwed by the refs. Nash would've destroyed the crappy Eastern Conference and gotten to the Finals had he been there too.

Well said. Kidd is good, but all things considered, I take Nash. Mind you, the best has to be Magic from 20 years before that. Best PG ever. :D
