Bynum ahead of Oden but behind Durant, Monta and Gay. LeBron's at #1 of course.

Just wondering, why is this thread meant to be about Bynum? You're not a Laker fan or anything...why put his name next to the thread title?

I like to follow Bynum. He's controversial. Plus, I think that his match-up with Oden next Tuesday is going to be epic.

The second-coming of Kareem, Wilt and Shaq. All rolled into one. According to Lakers' fans...

This seems fair to me. Glad to see Bosh in the top 5. Thorton could have been a couple higher...the kid is

I would put Rudy at 25th (for now)...I'm not sold on Marc Gasol.

IDK, probably because he knows that every NBA thread ends up talking about him anyways so might as well just say it.

Concerning the rankings, I actually like them a lot, no glaring errors

I wanna know why Bynum was 16 last year.
No one expected him to do anything really but back up Kwame at the beginning of last season.

If you scroll down:

On the Cusp: Michael Beasley (Miami), Rajon Rondo (Boston), Ronnie Brewer (Utah), Travis Outlaw (Portland), Louis Williams (Philadelphia)

So Rondo is 27 apparently. I think that's about fair, I wouldn't put him above Marvin Williams or Thad Young.

how many people has Andrew Bynum blown, because everyone seems to think he will be the second coming of christ and i think he's going to be a loser.

You can't call Thaddeus Young "Thad". It sounds horrible! Thaddeus is a really cool name and Thad sounds like a lawyer from the 90's with that stupid 'parted down the middle' haircut.

Now if you want to call Marvin Williams "Marv" I'm completely in favor of that. But Thaddeus has to be Thaddeus.

I thought Bynum was there to elict a reaction from Laker fans

The rankings look pretty good to me, I thought Iguadala would be ranked higher than Brandon Roy and Josh Smith, but it all seems pretty fair to me.

Yeah...on the defensive end.

Yeah...on the defensive end.

Take this from a Bobcats fan. I'd take Rondo over Felton in a heartbeat. The knock on Rondo is that he can't shoot. But he knows he can't really shoot, so he doesn't shoot from the outside anyways. Raymond Felton can't shoot either, but doesn't know that he can't shoot, so he continues to clank shots off the rim. And add into account the fact that Rondo is already an very good defender with long arms and active hands. Not to mention that Rondo did an excellent job of managing a championship team on the floor.

Well said. Rondo was definitely a key component in the Celtics championship. He was steady throughout the playoffs (give or take a few games). If those trends continue early into the season, I'm sure you'll see Felton sink and Rondo rise.

Don't want to jump to conclusions, but Spencer Hawes has been playing like a legit NBA center lately. Put up huge numbers against Yao Ming tonight. Dude has a good post game, a solid mid-range turnaround and he's improved on defense too.

He'll get minutes cause Brad Miller is suspended for the first 5 games. If he can prove he's consistent, I don't know how you can keep him off of Top 25 lists like this.

How is Dwill better than Melo??

D-will does more things well than Melo. He's a great passer who can shoot the lights out and defends well at his position. Melo is more one-dimensional, though that one dimension (scoring) is pretty impressive.

Responses to the critique of no Derrick Rose, Felton over Rondo and J.R. Smith being "too high". Personally, I think the Felton over Rondo thing is messed up. Felton can't shoot to save his life right now.

Bynum Gets overrated, and Kevin Martin is underrated. Martin should be top ten and Bynum should be lucky to make top 25.

Right now he is Overrated because he has'nt really done anything to prove that hes the next Shaq down in L.A. But when he does if he does, he won't be. ANd i have to agree Kevin Martin is very underrated after all he did help me win my basketball league the last 2 years. :D

Yep give the Kings another two years their going to be Contending in the West. If Hawes keeps on developing, as jason, plus the 25mill+ of cap their going to have in 2010, plus the 3 first round picks in the next 2 years, and the trade bait in Brad Miller, if everything plays right. Look for the king to contend in the west in 2 years.

Without a question. Rondo should be in between 15 and 20. They got Rashard McCants on there and no Rondo? Give me a break.

That's an old ranking. Check out the most recent version. Rondo is 'On the Cusp'. Though he should probably be higher.

It's true. The Kings will have a very good core of players in the next two years. I'm excited about the Martin-Thompson-Hawes combo. But Thompson and Hawes have to get better on defense to make this team a true contender.

What the Kings truly need is a #1-3 pick in the draft. A PG or SF or PF who is dominant and can take this team to another level alongside Martin.

Because they're in Sac, the Kings have a hard time picking up free agents and few will trade with GM Geoff Petrie because he's so shrewd. So that leaves only the draft. And, like you said, they can probably get something decent in return for Brad Miller's expiring contract in a few years.

I'll just be happy when Kenny Thomas' dead-weight contract is off the books. Dude is lazy and overpaid.

how bout Devin Harris

Too old, man. Devin Harris graduated to over 25 status last season, a few months after Kevin Martin. Wish we could still include him though. He's going to have a pretty good year now that he's the man in NJ and doesn't have Avery coaching over his shoulder.
