So, I tried researching this I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if a second rounder has ever won rookie of the year? Just something I was curious about... thanks! :o

Nice, leave it to good ol' Wiki for the info. Thanks guys... would be cool if there was a sleeper some day soon in today's game that won it out of the 2nd round.

Well, making it in the 60s was not such a surprise, you know? the 11th pick was a second rounder :P

Doubt someone ever does that again now that there are 60 picks.

This year the only second rounder with chances to make the rookie team at best is Marc Gasol.....Pity Oden is there.

I know DeMeco Ryans (LB) of the Houston Texans won Defensive ROY in 2006. He was a 2nd round pick. Now he was the first pick of the 2nd round (nearly a first round round pick), but still a 2nd round pick. He actually was drafted the same year as Mario Williams. Ryans also made the pro bowl in 2007, and Williams is really coming into his own and looking like the number overall pick of a draft (looks like he may have been the better option over Reggie Bush and Vince Young). Looking at the combination of these two players, Houston really had a
nice draft for the defensive side of the ball that year.

no way a second rounder makes it this year with rose/beasley/mayo and now oden leading the way....i do have confidence in donte green to do good though dont remember if he was a second rounder or late first. marc gasol could be solid at best much like joakim noah last year and deandre jordan will take 3-4 years to fulfil his potential
