Michael Redd has a very quick release. He makes it look pretty effortless.

Ray Allen has a great stroke... so easy, a three is like a layup for him.

knicks1214
10-20-2008, 04:46 PM
JJ Redick I think still has one of the best jumpshots in the NBA. He has perfect form and is just an overall great shooter--even though he does not get enough time to showcase his skills.

redd looks nice, but it seems like is always over shooting it.

Ray allen's shot is pretty. Especially in Transition.

Nobody can take Ray-Ray's crown yet, but I think Mike Miller has pretty much a perfect jumpshot. I'd say Allen has the smoothest shot, Miller's is flawless though.

Ray Allen has a really nice looking jumpshot. I've always like how Peja shoots 3's. Kind of unorthodox, but it works. And I've always liked the way Tracy McGrady shoots as well.

And now for my homer pick...Kevin Martin. His jumper is a thing of beauty. But hey, you can't argue with the results. 40% from the 3 point line last year.

Hands down Ray Allen has the smoothest, thats what he built his career on really he is the man with the smoothest jumpshot.

Kapono would be second for me, nice smooth release as well has a nice arc on the ball

All the obvious people, Jason Kapono, Ray Allen, those guys. A guy who's shot isn't that great % wise but it's pretty and smooth is Thaddeus Young's shot, he's a lefty and his shot looks real smooth.

Steve Nash. #2 in 3pt %, behind Kopono (who took 1/3 the attempts, btw). Nash is brutally efficient with his shot and he takes a ridiculously high number of them. 47% on 381 attempts. (http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/3PointS.jsp?league=00&season=22007&conf=OVERALL&position=0&splitType=9&splitScope=GAME&qualified=Y&yearsExp=-1&splitDD=) Kopono took 61 less than Nash made. Nash, hands down.

All time, Reggie Miller. The guy was an assassin. Ask any Knick fan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrlAj-wXTuE).

I agree with you guys kapono does have a nice shot but im not giving it to him...imo i think Kyle Korver, has the sweetest shot. after him i think its Kirk Hinrich then Kapono and Ray Allen. I was not impressed with Redd in the Olympics but he dose have a nice shot too.

ok, i'm gonna have to dispute this... yes reggie is a great 3 pt shooter, but i wouldn't say his jumpshot is smooth, its a very rigid shooting motion...Glen Rice, now that's a smooth shot.

You guys all know that Ray Allen's form is not textbook right? If that's what this is based on then it should be someone like Rip, Nash, or Redick.

10-21-2008, 03:51 PM
I say Shaq or Dwight Howard... they are silky smooth from 3... also add in Emeka Okafor and Greg Oden... these guys are going to be living on the 3 point shot this year

The guy I sat next to last night at the Phoenix suns and Charlotte Bobcats was pretty good (Steve Kerr). I was 7th row and out of nowhere Kerr sits down and watches the game next to me,I gotta say that was really cool!

For a current player I would have to go with Ray Allen, he is deadly

Kareems sky-hook is picture perfect.

Why doesn't more of these young guys do hook shots anymore... If Yao or Dwight Howard could master the hook shot, they would both be unstoppable offensivly.

D12 would be more effective from more thn 2 feet out.

Yao's turnaround J is nice, just adding the hook shot to his game... he'd be that much better.

Yea, I think that it is not done much because it is much harder to master than than a regular jump shot and as you know impossible to defend.
