what is everyones predictions for their teams standings?

i feel LA will go 61-21.. i think they can do better.. but with the line-up tampering and the fact we dont know what to do with odom causes problems for our chemistry.. the first few months are gonna be for adjustments causing LA to lose more games than they should. had their chemistry been GREAT already n odom gasol and bynum had chemistry in the starting lineup id call his laker team a 70-12 team. too bad tho. btw i hope ariza learns how to shoot the three well n gets inserted into the starting lineup over radman

West

1 lakers- 61-21
2 rockets- 59-23
3 hornets- 57-25
4 jazz- 56-26
5 spurs- 55-27
6 suns- 53-29 (maybe 54-28)
7 dallas- 52-30
8 portland- 49-33

East

1 boston- 58-24
2 detroit 50-32
3 clevelnd 49-33
3 toronto 49-33
5 Orlando 48-34
6 phili 47-35
7 miami 44-38 (i really think so)
8 either atlanta, the bucks.. maybe even the cats

I may have the east predicted wrong.. but im now much of an expert on the east coast.. but i feel im spot on in the west

I agree. There are only little changes I would do but that are close, nothing major.

The East is kinda tricky...I really don't think CLE will get Homecourt this year--BOS, DET, ORL, PHI & TOR could all be ahead of them.

EAST:
1. Boston (59-23)
2. Cleveland (55-27)
3. Philadelphia (54-28)

5. Detroit (49-33)
6. Toronto (48-34)
7. Washington (46-36)
8. Atlanta (45-37)

I don't really see Miami making it, and I don't see any team winning 60 games this year.

The addition of Mo Williams to the Cavs will be the most overrated aquisition of 2008...Mo couldn't get it done with Redd, Bogut (who is a low post threat Cleveland would die for right now)...I don't think he will make Cleveland that much better.

I think if the Bucks stay relatively healthy they'll make it...they have Jefferson now who fits in nicely as a slasher type in contrast to Redd perimeter shooting and Bogut down low. I think the defensive mentality Skiles preaches will carry over to a postseason slot. They are pretty deep and talented with some players who have great upside.

Boston is the #1 seed in the east for sure. But the best record will go to either Boston, Lakers or Rockets. I see the Rockets, Lakers and maybe Hornets in a see-saw battle all year.

The Heat will make the playoffs
as the 8th or 7th seed you watch...

With those standings Cleveland would be thrird and Orlando would be 4th. the top 4 teams are the 4 best records, and any 3 of them can be division winners.

Similar to what I was thinking in terms of rankings. I have LA winning 62 games this year. Boston will win about 60 games.

i think every laker fan is pretty funny...every year is their year..whats the point of having 30 teams...cut the regular season in half and automatically put them in the finals...borrrinnnngggggggg

Really? Because I always see them listed as the 5th or 6th best team in the East. So you think they're worse than that?

West Changes: Spurs over Jazz, Hornets over Rockets

Cavaliers are going to eliminate the Celtics in the playoffs, and I don't think the Spurs are a top 5 teams in the West because Ginobili, their 2nd best player will miss 25 games in the regular season.

East:

1. Celtics
2. Cavs
3. Magic
4. Raptors
5. Detroit
6. 76'ers
7. Miami
8. Atlanta

West:

1. Lakers
2. Rockets
3. Hornets
4. Jazz
5. Spurs
6. Clippers
7. Suns
8. Trailblazers

I think this is the year you see the Pistons slip a bit, and the Mavs are the team to barely miss the post season in the west

I think the East will have four fifty win teams this season. Things are changing.

hyp21
10-23-2008, 12:09 PM
I think a lot of you have waaaaaayyyy too many wins for these teams. Things imo are evening themselves out a bit. I would say 4 would be the least of the total 50+ win teams outta the 16 to make it in. Maybe 5, at best 6, but some of these posts....10 50+ win teams??? damn! My picks:

5 50+ win teams (Lakers, Hornets, Jazz; Celts, Magic)

9 40+ wins (Cavs, Pistons, Raps, Sixers, Hawks; Spurs, Rockets, Suns, Blazers)

2 30+ wins (Mavs;Wizz)

9 40+ wins (Cavs, Pistons, Raps, Sixers, Hawks; Spurs, Rockets, Suns, Blazers)

2 30+ wins (Mavs;Wizz)

So you have 14 teams winning less than 30 games??? Thats a whole lot of tanking for a weak draft class...

hyp21
10-23-2008, 01:43 PM
^no. not at all. I just think there will be a good amount of teams right in that 35-39 range. With the final seeds being right there at 38-39 wins. probably about a total of 5 or 6 between 35-38 wiins...then the rest 7 or 8 will just be outright bad

blackcat45
10-23-2008, 08:16 PM
such a joke the lakers are...buss must be proud hes in large market and his and Kupchecks mistakes can be easily overlooked because of the fan base and money rolling in.....I picked the Hornets last year to surprise people and they did big time! also take the money and leave kobe bryant..be a businessman and take the best offer and just leave...the best player in the league for sure, but its comical to see the NBA try to market this criminal once more as a feature guy when you have other younger players to build around...the days of Jordan and the lone face of the NBA are gone and they will never return because no talent like that will ever be again...its really pathetic having the lakers and celtics on over 20 national broadcast games purely out of market and dough....30 teams in the league...I don't care what their records or fan base is, I want to see a diversity of games because I don't root for laundry

blackcat45
10-23-2008, 08:21 PM
also bryant is the best guard in the league but he is older now...much younger players are in the NBA that I would take in a second over this guy because its a young , athletic league filled with promising guards

Cavs are OVERRATED!!!!

More like underrated.

6th, 7th, 8th seed? Anything less than a 4th seed is underrating the Cavaliers. How many times do they have to out-rebound or blow people away with sheer Lebron James-ness before people start giving respect?

I don't think Cleveland fans care too much, though. People will see.

I will tell you who is OVERRATED: the Philly 76ers. What a joke of a team. People have them winning the Finals and being the 2 seed and stuff. Ridiculous.
