Many blame the failures of the Rockets on Tracy Mcgrady, however let's say you put at worst a top 3 player in the league at the time in Lebron James on the Rockets instead of T-mac. How good do the Rockets do in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008?

Lineup 2006-2007
PG Rafer/Head
SG Battier/Lucas
SF Lebron/Snyder
PF Hayes/Howard
C Yao/Deke

Lineup 2007-2008
PG Rafer/Brooks
SG Battier/Jackson/Head
SF Lebron/Novak
PF Scola/Hayes
C Yao/Deke

This is just unfair.
They would definitely get out of the 1st round, thats for sure.
But lebron instead of Tmac probably wouldn't even get them to the WCF.

Also... Tmac didn't play that much due to injury.

I don't think replacing Tmac with LeBron would lead them to a championship. Maybe they would get out of the first round, but it doesn't really matter. Tracy Mcgrady as I recall always played well in the playoffs if he wasn't injured.

They make the WCF in 06-07 but not win it all.

They win the championship last year in 7 games. By beating Lakers in WCF.

Depends. With Yao injured, another first round exit.

T-mac averaged about 26 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block.

And in the couple games I saw, a damn good portion of that was in the fourth.

Lebron's a different beast, but...I don't think they would have won it all.

1 of 2 things would happen, they would click perfectly and lose to the Celtics in the Finals, or the Spurs the year before, or LeBron wouldve made Yao worse and both wouldve lost in the 2nd round.

It would be different, but not significantly. T-mac already gives you quality minutes on the floor, its just that Lebron minutes are a little higher quality.

I don't know if they would've been as good last year b/c T-Mac is the only guy I know who can lead a team to 20+ winning streak.

Would be in Western Finals for sure in 06-07 and would go to the finals depending on Yao's play and health

Would compete to go into western finals in 07-08 depending on yao's health and play but would probably lose to hornets

in 07 they would have lost in 7 games to utah like they really did. and last season without yao lebron wouldve also had another 1st round exit.. the rockets would be more stable with less chance if injury but their defense would be slightly weaker
