WASHINGTON -- Wizards starting center Brendan Haywood could miss the entire season while recovering from surgery Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist.

He had the operation in New York and will spend 2 months in a cast before starting rehabilitation. The team said Haywood will be out four to six months

With Arenas out till Mid December at least, does anyone see Washington making the playoffs?

Not without Haywood, he was the backbone of their defense. Is Etan Thomas back?

He is back, but Haywood was pretty productive last year, he will be missed. Also, what will Arenas be like when he finally returns? How bad is Jamison's injury? I think they will make playoffs if nothing else goes wrong, but it's not such a sure thing anymore. Nothing ever seems to go this team's way.

No, I don't see them making it because of the loss of Arenas and B. Haywood. A. Jamison is banged up as well, I don't know if the Wizards' team can survive the loss of so many of their "core" players.

So essentially we have Boston, Cleveland, Orlando, Toronto, Detroit and Philly who make the playoffs for sure.
