View Full Version : Bobcats lining up Morrison trade?

Adam Morrison got about $5 million richer Wednesday and -- at least by the technicalities of NBA rules -- a little easier to trade. The Charlotte Bobcats exercised contract options for next season on Morrison ($5.257 million) and Jared Dudley ($1.307 million). Had the Bobcats not exercised those options by Oct. 31, both would have become unrestricted free agents in July. Also, not exercising that option would have given Morrison veto power, should the Bobcats seek to trade him. He is playing under a one-year option, in the third season of his rookie-scale contract. Morrison, the third pick in the 2006 draft, said he wasn't surprised the Bobcats exercised the option, and he won't be surprised if he or another wing player is traded.

They could be looking to trade him. But I have heard that he has been impressive so far in camp. Who knows what will happen. I do know that the Bobcats plan to have DJ Augustin be their future PG, so they may move Felton while they still can. He's not a star, but he's a starting quality PG, so they should be able to move him.

I'd be happy with Felton :), Morrison was looking decent before his injury so i have to wait and see how he does this year.

AmMo played alright last night against your Suns....

12 points (2-2 from 3)
2 boards
2 assists
18 minutes

i hope he stays healthy

oh and Augustin proved hes not scared to shoot last night....albeit not very well! he went 4-20 from the field, but still managed 19 points thanks to 11-12 free throws.....plus 8 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals

Yeah i like Augustin a lot, I was hoping the Suns would be able to trade up to get him. I was surprised when the Bobcats drafted him because i thought you guys were going big.

I just posted an article about AMMO in the trade rumors thread....the article eludes to a possible Eddy Curry/AMMO swap...

I dunno how I feel about that...risky move. But we do need a big man. Maybe if Curry is paired with Okafor down low his rebounding decencies will be masked a little bit. It also doesn't hurt that Gerald Wallace is a good rebounder as well.
