I just watched a program on the NFL Network and it was about the 15-1 Minnesota Vikings team that missed out on their chance to capture a Super Bowl ring. The program talked about how the Vikings felt like they were a team of destiny, but in the end, they fell short. ( I know this is a football story, but it hit home for me and it can pertain to any sport)

What NBA teams can you all think of that had all the talent in the world and everyone was predicting them to win it all, but in the end, that team fell short of the prize of winning a Championship?

*I remember being crushed when the Lakers in 04 lost to the Pistons. I just felt like that team was destined to win it all, but in the end, they were defeated.

Jazz with Malone and Stockton should've won a title, made it there a couple times but never closed the deal

Very True, I thought they were going to win the title in 97.

Not in '97 but in '98 they were clearly the favorite. Bulls were often injured and had less on the team and had to go 7 games against the Pacers whereas the Jazz went thru Hakeem, Barkley and Drexler in Round 1, Duncan and Robinson in round 2 when both were averaging 20+ ppg and 10+ rpg and then Shaq, Eddie Jones, Van Exel and Kobe in Round 3 (4 allstars).

Nay, The Suns were beat fair and square...they never took the Spurs further than six games.

The 2000 Blazers were so close...The Lakers were just unbelievable rallying from 14 points down with four minutes left. Imagine if Sheed had two titiles instead of one...he'd be recognized far more as one of the games best bigs.

The 2002 Kings
The Jazz with Stockton and Malone. Michael Jordan was the reason why they never got rings.

2001 76ers....MVP, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, 6th man of the Year all on this team. AI was a Matt Geiger no trade clause away from being traded in the offseason before this season. They were david going against goliath in the Finals and took down the Lakers in stunning fashion game 1.
