View Full Version : Make one change to your team.

So if you didn't have to worry about matching salaries, and you could swap a player on your team with any other player, who would you swap?

For teams at the bottom of the league, it's obviously going to be players like CP3, LBJ and D. Howard coming in, but I'm curious to see what changes contenders might make.

For example, for the Lakers I'd much rather have Tayshaun Prince or Shane Battier than Odom, since they drastically improve our defense, can hit open jump shots, but don't need the ball too much so they won't disturb chemistry. They'd also be good mentors to Trevor Ariza.

Another good example (IMO), is Rip Hamilton for the Utah Jazz. He gives them a very good SG, experience, and great off the ball movement to help break down defenses. He's a guy that would help them on both sides of the floor, whilst still allowing Deron Williams to control the offense and continue to grow.

Any other ideas?

Or just change it to role players. I should have thought this through a bit more I guess :pity:

For the Heat I'd take Samuel Dalembert or Mo Williams (if you consider him a role player).

Assuming super stars are off limits, I would want a SF or SG who can a) defend and b) attack the paint. Guys like Josh Smith, Gerald Wallace, Ron Artest...

EDIT: Assuming these guys are too high profile for the purposes of this game, I would definitely be happy with a Battier/Prince-esque defender.

well since superstars are off limits, for OKC i'd add a C like Andris Biedrins(a talented young big) and for Dallas i'd pretty much do the same thing.

That's who I would want on my Raptors as well. I love his game, and we really need a guy who can score on the wing.

Good thread. I would swap Odom for Tayshaun Prince. He would fit in great with our team, he can defend, hit the outside shot and is a consistent, unselfish player. I also would like to have Paul Milsapp on the bench. He's tough down low, and has a lot of potential. He's a good rebounder and can score down in the paint.

I wanted the Nets to draft someone else with the 41 pick this NBA draft so the raptors could have drafted Chris Douglas-Roberts so we could have a good 2/3 scorer who could slash so that when he plays with Kapono, the raps would have so much ways to score.

I wish we could have CDR and Nathan Jawai

If it would be possible. I'd trade Mo Pete for Rip Hamilton. Imagine the Hornets starters
CP3, Rip, Peja, West, Chandler. Both wing are 3pters and Rip has great defense to get those scorers from the opposite team honest.

I wouldn't want Peja on our team. He makes our already good scoring better, and he makes our already bad defense weaker, not a good fit.

Odom for Nocioni. Plays strong D, can shoot the 3 or cut, rebounds, and has a bit of mongrel about him. Fits the triangle. Chicago have multiple options to make a deal happen.
