I wonder why Martin isn't in the starting line-up?

No problem. It took 2 seconds to copy it from the Lakers forum. Hard work, eh?

Anyways, have an idea why Martin isn't in the starting line-up?

He missed the first game due to an injury, could be the same thing.

Or, just to give Garcia and other players some more time to determine the rotation.

Yeah, I don;t see a reason in starting Martin, he is our most valuable player.

I think it may be to see how Salmons/Garcia do starting as opposed to coming off the bench?

should be JT starting instead of mikki.......and im really excited to seeing ariza play, he's one of my favorites.

Yeah, I like Ariza, he's the only Laker I enjoy watching.

I can see why Theus isn't playing Martin. We all know what Martin can do. Theus probably wants to give other guys a chance. And Hawes is starting because he's gonna have to start the first 5 games so he has to be ready for that.

Theus said the first 4 games will be developing younger players. The last 4 games will be getting the vets comfortable and in the rotation.

We have a better record, so we're probably going to win. :D

it's not about winning or losing, it's about playing to the best of your abilities and developing as a group :)

Yeah, that's true. But it's also important that the Kings win so I can talk trash to my friend. :smoking:

Some one sum up the first 3 quarters for me.

Me too please, just got done with the Dodgers game so Im tuning in right now.

Well, based on the fourth quarter, we played a decent game. Our young guys flourished on offense, running the floor and finishing at the rim. However, once again we continue to give up easy buckets down low. That's very concerning.

Looks like Thompson and Hawes had good performances though, can't wait until the regular season starts.

Jason Thompson was really the only person that stood out. He looked good out there. Hawes played pretty good defense too.

To sum up the game, the Kings displayed excellent unselfish offense where the ball was constantly moved with little to no one on one play. The defense was solid and everybody worked hard on the boards creating a lot of second chance opportunities. If Kevin Martin played any more the Kings would have won. Although I don't think he should have played anymore than he did, and I would be reluctant to play him much more due to his knee. Anyway, if the Kings play like that in the regular season, a lot of people should be looking out.

Well you could say if he played more we would have won, but then what if Kobe and Bynum and Pau played more? Lol

Actually the Lakers played Kobe, Bynum and Pau more than your average team would play their starters during the pre-season, with them all averaging over 20 minutes each. Kobe played the most minutes on the Lakers with 25 minutes while most of our minutes went to Thompson and Hawes with 27 minutes. Honestly it looked like Jackson was going more for winning than he was developing and seeing what his youth could do, which is understandable since his team was 0-2 in the pre-season and its kind of a mental think.

If Martin had played more, this game would have easily been ours IMO

I agree. And all of the Laker's starters started in the 2nd half when Kevin Martin sat out. Kobe played for about 25 minutes when Kevin Martin only played 15. If Kevin even played 5 more I think they could have won. It doesn't really matter if they win though. The part that does matter is that the Kings displayed that they can play for real. Now we'll have to see if they do this consistantly or if it was just a one night thing.

who really cares about winning preseason, the only thing that matters is getting our vets in game shape and seeing what our rooks are capable of doing. which is pretty much what is happening. the w-l result is seriously meaningless until the regular season.

if anything winning preseason games boosts team morale, but still..... shouldn't stress about losing a preseason game or 2 or 3.

Doubt Kobe let's that happen in the regular season, but still, I love to see that happen to him, no matter what time of year it is.
