Not sure how they would mesh as a team. You have a great player in Duncan and an up in coming star in Roy. I think this team would make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Wow, Battier/Bowen/Bell is some unrelenting wing defense and Duncan is the best post defender in the game today, whereas Camby might be the best help defender.

The team would struggle to score. You have Calderon, Roy and Duncan to make plays and everyone else is pretty much just a spot up shooter and defensive specialist. Still, how many points do you need with defense like this? I think they'd be contenders.

Starting line is competent.
But no flashing on the bench.

those are players that can work well with others so meshing shouldn't be too hard

This is how the 2004 Pistons beat the "Hall of Fame Team" Lakers, by have a team built like this. In fact I think this group is a lot better. I think the key here is to have a coach that would make it all work. One that would be team orriented, not one that would draw up plays for one specific person. If this group could use their natural unselfish nature and work the ball around they would definately be championship caliber. They would be kind of a San Antonio Spurs style team, it wouldn't be pretty but they would frustrate other teams like crazy and ultimately get the job done.

i dont see this team beating out the lakers rockets or celtics. but like i said if they traded roy, fisher and turiaf plus a 1st pick to the rockets for scola and tmac then id reconsider and say they'd win it all

You don't have to read it. It's not like the header was ambiguous.

I'd say the team lacks scoring. Ultimately the NBA game is geared towards offense. Since the team is constructed around Duncan offensively, we can compare them to the Spurs. They have Parker, Ginoboli, and Duncan as primary scorers. When one of those three players are slowed due to injury or fouls, the Spurs struggle to win consistently. Almost all teams need three scoring options to alleviate pressure from each other.

I see opposing teams doubling Duncan and staying on Calderon, forcing a 3rd option to make a play. When Duncan sits, I'd call a half court trap on Calderon, forcing someone else to handle the ball and make plays. When both are on the bench, it'd be a disaster. Duncan and/or Calderon would end up playing 40-44 minutes/game, which isn't very conducive to playoff runs.

The solution would probably be to add a shooter who has passable defense, replacing a defender who has passable shooting. The rest of the roster can compensate for his defensive shortcomings. It doesn't have to be a premier name, a Hedo Turkolu or Lamar Odom would suffice, or even a Mike Dunleavy Jr, or Mike Miller.

Win it All, and i disagree they dont have enough firepower come on , Roy cand Lit it up any time he wants, and Calderon well he does preffer to pass first but if he has to drop 20 buckets he will, he has done so with Spain for example.

I would substitue Camby with Chandler any way

I don't think Odom would help that team much, he's not a shooter. Mike Miller would be a great fit though.

I can see them winning the championship.

They would be a very low scoring team. Only Roy and Duncan could possibly average anywhere close to 20 PPG, with Calderon, Battier, and Camby being below average scorers.

Than they dont have any scorers off the bench at all.

They would be a good defensive team but ultimately would fall short because they just dont have the offense to consistently stick with teams.

With defense like that they could make a playoff run, but I would be worried about the amount of points they would score
