The Indiana Pacers have traded swingman Shawne Williams to Dallas.

The Pacers will receive guard Eddie Jones, two second-round picks and approximately $1.8 million in cash.

Nice trade for Pacers, I think Dallas gave up too much. But is there a link?

Move over LA, Houston, Boston, and New Orleans... Here comes the Mavs.

Seriously, i like this move a lot for Indiana. Anyone know how big Jone's contract is?

Mavs have like no draft picks now huh. They gave up two first rounders and now 2 2nd rounders.

Good trade for Indy, Mavs gave up too much.

If Wright has improved as much as the Mavs are hoping then they will be right in the mix.

Shawne Williams made around $1.5M last year, and Dallas is sending $1.8M? I don't think they can take Eddie Jones as well. Plus they're at 18 players in camp, if you include non-garuanteed players. I don't think they'd take back anyone.

The Mavs have a first rounder this year.

Well assuming Eddie Jones was planning on retiring, then they needed an athletic, 3pt shooting SG capable of staying in front of players like Kobe and Lebron (as much as anyone can). Plus, he played for Carlisle before.

Not terrible. 2 second round picks.

I think this is a good move made by both teams actually. Something must not be clicking with Shawne Williams if the Pacers were willing to trade him already.

This trade isn't too significant though, the Pacers likely made this trade for the 2nd round picks and to use Eddie Jones as a situational player of the bench for one year. The Mavericks likely made this trade to develop Shawne Williams into his potential, just like they started doing not too long ago with Antione Wright.

Not terrible. 2 second round picks.

Boozer, Ginobli, Arenas, Redd, and many other very nice players like Landry and Milsap were 2nd rounders.

How are they going to deliver the 1.8 million in cash?

The Pacers got a great deal out of this. Eddie Jones is a good three point shooter and 2 second round picks are useful.

Not bad for the Pacers at all. Let's see if Shawne will get PT in Dallas.

I havent noticed him too much...can he play SF?

If he can then it may mean Josh Howard is on his way to god know where.

I still thin Mavs should trade Terry and Filler for Iverson. Nuggets need a PG MAvs need a last shot at the ring.

I don't know what that's even supposed to mean.. You don't think it's risky to put two guys with bad off the court behavior on the same team?

Rick Carlisle already told Shawne that he was not gonna put up with any mess from him like he did in Indiana so he's already walking on a type rope...people wonna bash the guy and compare him to Howard without even giving him a chance...I know Shawne has had some off the court problems but that's the past and even he said that...I really think people should give him a chance before people start to bash the Mavs and Cuban like they always do on this forum.

I think Shawne Williams has potential and IMO Dallas did better in this trade.

Jones was a good three point shooter back when he had two good legs. Since he doesn't even have that, he was essentially bench filler with no upside, potential, or use. He was absolutely nothing for the Mavs and he should retire.
