9 ppg, 10 rpg, 2.1 bpg. He will foul out around 9 times. But he will show flashes of his defensive ability. 3 years down the line, 19/14/3, best interior defender in the NBA

After seeing Rudy F,Outlaw and Aldridge(especially him) play aggessive on offense I think Oden wont get as many touches this yr, I figured 14/15ppg but now Im gonna say 10ppg

He will put up decent numbers but I think one of the scoring rookies will get more attention for ROY but him and Anthony Randolph will be the best defensively out of the rookies.

really? That would put him in the conversation for top 3-4 centers. Not happeing this quick.

Randolph? Maybe in practice. Nelson doesn't play rooks. Especially not 6'9", 170 lb rooks.

Yeah, I think Oden will be in the top centers, he will surprise a lot of people. He reminds me of Patrick Ewing in terms of his defense.

Ewing was a pretty overrated defensive center. He was more potent on offense with his mid range game. I think Oden resembles Robinson more.

How was he overrated? He was the backbone of the most efficient defensive team in the 90's.

Ewing wasn't a bad defensive center...it's just that he wasn't nearly as dominant on defense as Olajuwon and Robinson. He has alot of help in the frontcourt. Mason and Oakley were great help defenders on those Knicks teams. You could see after they traded Mason to Charlotte for LJ, that Ewing became more exposed and battled with foul trouble more. Of course he had alot of injury problems too after that trade.

Pretty sure he'll get injured again and be out for a good chunk of the season, he'll be one of those guys that gets injured every year.

not going to make predictions, just hoping for the best.

I think the blazers don't really need him to score, more to be a force inside on the defensive end.

The kid looked really good out there. Happy to see him play. Overall he seems like a very classy guy...who cares about winning basketball...that's good to see.
