I do believe they can contribute 60 points Per game.
And Artest will finish a 15-5-5 season plus 2 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.

i dont think artest will get you the 5 assists nor the 1.5 blocks. the 60 between the 3 sounds reasonable tho.

i believe it should work artest should be back to his 03-04 form in defense

im thinking tmac will lead the team,

Tmac: 23 Points 7 Assits 5 rebounds
Yao: 27 Points 11 Rebounds 2 Blocks
Artest: 16 Points 6 rebounds 4 assits 1 block 1 steal

i agree around 60 games and those numbers are fair for Artest

With Artest, i am pretty sure Rockets will make their way to the West Final.
But i agree, health remains the major problem for Tmac and Yao.

They'll be in much better shape than last year when T-mac or Yao inevitably get injured. But 22 wins in a row was pretty extraordinary by itself.

The main concern is, will Artest be happy coming off the bench?

Rockets trio need to be as effective as the Celtics trio and the team need to be as good defensively.

im thinking tmac will lead the team,

Tmac: 23 Points 7 Assits 5 rebounds
Yao: 27 Points 11 Rebounds 2 Blocks
Artest: 16 Points 6 rebounds 4 assits 1 block 1 steal

I would give

Tmac: 25 ppg 6.5 aspg 5 rpg
Yao: 23 ppg 11 rpg 2 bpg
Artest: 17 ppg 6 rpg 3 aspg 1.8 spg 1 bpg

Don't 4get they got a great supporting cast. If Shane Battier stopped Kobe, imagine kobe thinkin he'll get a rest when Battier goes to the bench, only to find that Artest is coming OFF the bench to take his turn in guarding Kobe (or the other way around). Doesn't necessarily have to be Kobe, any teams perimeter scoring star.

Tmac and Yao averaged 22 and 21 last year, so I am not sure they would average more with a 3rd scorer on the team.

If healthy they will meet LA in the West Finals. Although, if LA is healthy they will beat them in 7 for sure.

I see yao averaging around 24 pts, Tmac averaging 20 pts, and Artest averaging 15

IF they can stay healthy there's no reason they shouldn't be consider one of the top contenders in the west.

i beg to differ. chemistry is a huge factor. also, dont they have a new coach? that could be huge also. dont get me wrong, they have a very legit shot, but they also have things working against them. with that being said, if mac cant get out of the 1st round in the next few years with this squad he will be the biggest star bust ever

artest will screw up this year and it will blow up in their faces horribly.

I doubt it. It is a year where Artest can get a contract, it wouldn't make sense for him to jack that up otherwise no one would want him and he would be out of the league.
Everything depends on him just playing ball at this point. He has no other option.

I think this trio will be a mess. Yao can't stay healthy, T-Mac is already banged up, and Artest you just never know. If everything goes right this team could be dangerous... but when does everything ever go right in Houston?

the team definitely has potential, but consistency is there main problem, last year.. they won 20 straight games or whatever WITHOUT yao ming! theres no reason why they cant make the west finals with him..

Really I think Yao needs to play only 30-32 mpg and T-mac around 33-35 mpg. Artest needs to start and play around 38-40 mpg with Battier playing around 28-30 mpg and a guy like Scola getting 30 mpg or more.

Really what will help the Rockets this year is their depth at each position barring they resign Dikembe.
