Alston is a qualified PG.
I hope he can improve his 3 point shooting, which will help a lot when Yao is being doubleteamed.

you just now found out that skip is rafer alston? wow. he's been a legend for a long time now. his story is better than moon's IMO. moon went through a lot. I do not discredit him at all. However, he still played professional ball wherever he could. Rafer played streetball. Streetball took him to college, and then he got his NBA chance. Before Skip, nobody came from the streets exculsively. Sure, people played at rucker park and outside, but they also all went to school. they all played in high school,as did skip, but then they went str8 to college. Skip was on nobodies radar for a while and then a scout saw him and gave him a shot. Still hardly anyone comes from streetball and he is still a legend. Black spider or black widow, i forget his name, could have been another to go. the same scout wanted to get him too, but he thought it was BS and decided to not waste his time cuz streetball was paying his bills....well...now he's feeling foolish. As far as if there are any more streetballers I cant say that I know any. I know there are a few talented enough to go. baby shaq is one. AO was said to be really good. played in gyms w Iverson a lot when he was in philly, but he never got his shot either.

Doesnt he already have a 3? I'd swear every game he's in his 3 point shot is high and he is always rated a great defender too

i really don't think he can provide steady firepower from the perimeter, though he did improve his 3 in the last season

Wow... Rafer is probably one of the Top 3 street ball legends of all time... And you had no idea he was Skip to My Lou?

Strange... I feel like they say it every Rockets game I have ever seen...

i loved rafer when he was in miami, toronto and now houston he has improved his game, better in game decison, still likes to jack up threes but he has toned that down a bit now, he is one the greatest street legends , and one of the best stories for an unknown making it to the bigs, hopefully this yr he gets his ring as hou wins the championship

why is his nickname Skip To My Lou?
is that what he said when he was trying to get little kids

"HEY KIDS SKIP TO MY LOU!"

I hated him at first living down here in Houston. But he has grown on me. He is a decent on the ball defender, even though he is slight. He hits open 3's, and makes pretty good decisions. They don't need him to be Chris Paul. They need him to start the offense, and hit the open shot when rotation breaks down. He stayed out of trouble this last year, he is a qualified starting guard in the NBA

For some reason he plays well against the Lakers.....had the game of his life against the Lakers....but his shot is up and down....he's really, really streaky....
