just curious who everyones favorite rookie is other than the ones on their favorite teams?

my favorites of course are beasley and mario chalmers, being a heat fan. but other than that, i'd like to keep an eye on oj mayo, eric gordon, westbrook, a few others.

Oden is on my SECOND favorite team, so I guess he counts. I like old school players like him and Brandon Roy. Rudy Fernandez also looks like my type of player.

forgot oden was a rookie lol, you can throw him on my list too. i'll probably follow fernandez as well, but i wouldn't consider him one of my favorites just yet

Lee plays for the magic
But im interested in seeing K Love
and waiting for the moment everyone realizes he is overrated and will be a slightly better Mark Madsen in the NBA i just dont see him and his skills translating to the NBA/ He was a great college player i must admit though. But i think that goes the same for that guy in Chapel Hill named Tyler:)

thank you someone finally gets it that Love and Tyler Hansbrough are gonna suck in the NBA i really just dont like them and dont want to see them in the NBA way to overrated baby as Dickie V would say really wanna see Beasley,Mayo,Randolph,and Donte Green from Syracuse 6'11 SF it might take him a couple of years to develop though

It cracks me up that everyone thinks just because someone is white, and not flashy, he can't play. Love is a player who everyone thought would take a while to adjust to college. What does he do? Wins Pac 10 player of the year over Mayo, Westbrook, Lopez, and everyone else. His outlet passing ability is unmatched, even at the pro level. He is smarter than most the NBA. He has always, and will continue, to figure out how to produce. I thought the same thing long before the Wolves got him, so this is not homerism. He simply understands how to play basketball.

I'm lookin at everyone's favorite and I'm noticing alot of variety. There is ALOT of talent in this years rookie class...especially if you count Oden apart of it. Does anyone else think that this year can be very similar to the 2003 rookies which included James, Carmelo, Bosh, and Wade?

Bosh=nextKG
10-06-2008, 12:06 AM
Naw i dont think more a few guys get to that caliber. remember that draft also had hinrich who started his nab career well and now needs to get back on track and josh howard , another very good player. I like 2 guys who people haven't been mentioning and these r my "sleeper" picks, Donte Greene, dude has proven he has scoring ability and J.J. Hickson. I would of liked to see this guy in Detroit where all those guys could have taught him how to be a good post player. What can Cleveland do to help him? Their bigs aren't gonna help him develop.

I know nobody who said he would struggle in college. Everybody on espn and other news outlets the same said the same thing that He would dominate college but they were not sure how he would do in the nba. And this came from some of his biggest supporters. This has nothing to do with race. I agree with u on one thing i think he has a great understanding of the game but that only goes so far if u cant perform physically. He was out of weight his whole career. U might can get away with that in college but in the league it wont happen. Who do u really think he can guard in the league? U see what happen when he played Memphis. He got shut down by a better and more athletic player in Joey Dorsey.

He got killed. He couldn't keep up in transition. And he got killed in the pick n rolls and the dribble penetrations. That is why rose was going off because there was rarely no one at the basket in transition. They were driving right past him and some times right over him. he had 12 and 9 but he was 4 for 11

I think Michael Beasley is the best in this draft, and I've been a fan of his since high school.

However, I like to find the "lesser known" draft jewels. For example, I think I'm most excited about seeing if Sean Singletary is gonna succeed, I loved him at UVA, (and I bleed Carolina blue, so that's saying a lot), he's a flat out winner and the type of guy you never tell that he can't do something, he'll do it.

Also, Richard Hendrix, and Shan Foster.
