Last season, the Atlanta Hawks were the sleeper team that seemed to make some noise during the playoffs. Who do you all think will be the surprise teams from both the East and the West?

the CHICAGO BULLS.... new coach, new system, basically the same team from the 06-07 semi final round of the playoffs... + #1 overall pick Derrick Rose. Don't let last year fool you.

Though I can tell you're a tad biased, I agree.

I'm a Bulls fan too, but I think they'll at least be a low Playoff seed in the East this year. They had a terrible, terrible year last year and everything that could go wrong...did go wrong.

Now they have a potential playmaker at PG in Rose, a new Head Coach that wants to run and a bunch of players wanting to prove that last year was just a bad season. You also have guys like Kirk Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas that have to play well or else they're probably done in Chicago, coupled with Ben Gordon and Drew Gooden in contract years.

I'm not saying they'll challenge for the East, but they'll definitely challenge for a Playoff spot.

I have that feeling about the Bucks every year, and every year they disappoint me.

I think I'm gonna have to go on a limb and go with the Lakers on this one, look for them to shock the world and not only make the playoffs but win it all.

On a more serious note, my sleeper team will be... New Jersey

The Bucks will be better...I think with Scott Skiles at the helm they'll at least play hard. Bogut should flourish under the more traditional coaching regime...they have good pieces. Bogut can score inside, Redd can shoot outside and Jefferson is a versatile defender that loves to take it at the rim. That's pretty good offensive balance. I think if they miss the postseason it will be because of health issues.

I don't know if you can call teams like Phoenix and San Antonio sleepers, but they're not getting mentioned nearly as much as teams like the Lakers and Portland, for example. The Pistons are in a similar situation in the East.

West.... Grizzlies i guess, as in not finishing in th ebottom but over Okc, Sac, Gs and CLipps.

IN the east i have two favourites to shock people.

1 the bucks, who are obviusley better so they could enter the poffs.

and the KNICKS.

if they commit with Danotni and play to what they can expect a HUGHE surprise as in top 4 in the east.

Grizzlies over Clips? Dewd..

The slow fat Knicks & Mike D just don't equal success. It just won't happen.

I wouldn't bee surprised seeing Philly in ECF. Nor would I be surprised to see Clippers killing a team with HCA in the 1st round.

Clippers and Bucks.
Alot of improvement on both teams.

I'm not buying the Bucks being all that much better. It's hard to take a bunch of players who don't play defense and then say, "we're going to play defense this year." Bogut rebounds but doesn't play defense. Charlie V doesn't play defense. Redd can't play defense. Who's their PG again? Ridnour? Haven't seen him play.

It's the same thing the Pacers tried last year, and look how well it worked out for them. Change takes time unless you can buy a championship, not mentioning any names. If I were to pick a sleeper in the East, I'd have to say the Bulls. They had all the pieces in place from a very good team, and added a good PG. But I don't know if they're still in the process of imploding. In the West, I'd pick the Kings. Losing Artest balances out with getting rid of Artest. I like them for 8th unless Denver makes another move or two

I'm saying the Knicks but I'm just saying that because there will be a huge improvement. This time, they have a real coach and the players actually enjoy playing with D's system. If everything pans out like it looks like it might happen-Marbury not high every night, Zebo willing to pass the ball, and Lil' Nate becoming the Barbosa of the team, we will be a solid team. Make the playoffs? I don't know about that but hopefully we'll come close-top 10 in the east.

Clippers; Baron Davis, Al Thorton, Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby, Cuttio Mobley and Ricky Davis that team COULD be really really good.

Cleveland if they count, LeBron, Big Z, Wallace and Williams thats gonna be a high 40s and low 50s win team. 2-4 in the east

Bucks look good. Then maybe comes the Bulls, Nets, and Heat. But I'll go with the Bucks being the biggest sleeper in the east.

I don't consider a team that is the 8th seed being a sleeper unless they were just terrible the year before.

The Trailblazers are the western sleepers that have a chance to get into the playoffs, if they compete with the likes of Denver and Salt Lake City. Also, the Clippers' revamped roster makes them sleepers until it's seen that they can form some chemistry. Golden State is also a sleeper in my opinion. Monta Ellis might be out for awhile, but they're still starting Maggette, Jackson, Harrington, and Biedrins, who are all very talented at their respective positions.
In the east, I guess the Bulls and the Bobcats are the biggest sleepers. Not much is expected from the Chicago team that imploded last year, but the new point guard combined with their overall depth might suprise some people. The Bobcats are the perennial sleeper because they have lots of talent, but are never able to bring it together. Maybe a new coach and the return of some depth, including Adam Morrison, will help them out, but probably not.

The Wolves have been picked to finish 13th in the west with less than 32 wins by everyone. I think they do better than that. I predict 38-44, 10th in the west

no doubt. If anything, they are overrated. There isn't and expert out there that doesn't have them in the playoffs, and many think they can win close to 50 games. Nobody is sleeping on them.
