Will Kobe ever win a title not being in the shadow of another player?

It's clear he won his titles being the 2nd best player on the team. But he never has won as the best. Guys like Magic, Jordan, Rick Barry and Wade have.

Not unless they get LeBron in a trade

EDIT: I didn't understand what the question was but he can do it since not many players can overshadow him

He can do that as early as this coming season.

This season. And LeBron is in Kobes shadow. Period

But LeBron winning a Ship is more spectacular than Kobe winning it. And you can't be in somebody's shadow when you're "the King".

I dont think kobe was the 2nd best on his 3 championship teams

you could make a case for him or shaq being the top dog on those teams, but
when the game was on the line kobe was the man

I was at all 3 western conference finals games in Portland ( against the Lakers) and shaq killed us but kobe bailed them out and was the go to guy in each game.

I think the lakers have a good a shot as anybody this yr

Shaq was by far and away the best player on those Laker teams. At that point in his career, other teams developed an entire defensive scheme to try and stop him, and force anyone else to beat them. Kobe was the recipent of that. Wade was a few years later. Shaq was the man. Plain and simple

Kobe has a great opportunity in the next 2-3 years to change it all. As of now, he is one of the best second bananas to ever win a ring. If he can get 2-3 more as the best player on his team, then I will agree he enters the conversation as a top 5-10 player ever. Until then, he is just another star who can't get it done when it matters most.

nope he wont do it.
he couldnt do it with the great team they had last year. hes a great player but hes not the greatest TEAM player. thats why lebron is better (ur other post) hes a team player. thats way jordan is the GOAT he was a team player as well - not at first granted, but when he started becoming a team player they wan the 6 :)

Jordan was still an elite player at 36...Kobe could do the same. The window is there. However, Kove has already been in the league for 12 years. That's alot of milage.
