Greg Oden must have had quite a bit of free time over the past 12 months as he sat out...

HE GOT HUGE!!!!

Seriously, he's massive.

Here is the evidence... (http://www.portlandtrailbloggers.com/archives/990/the-difference-a-year-makes/)

Yea... well I guess if you gotta stay off your feet, you might as well work the upper body. He looks bigger, but not way bigger.

Yeah his right arm and shoulder is much bigger. Both Oden and Bynum have bulked up considerably.... will be good to see them go head to head.

Hope all that extra muscle won't put pressure on that balky knee of his.

he doesn't look THAT much bigger...
look how much bigger his head is, so the picture is zoomed in pretty significantly, making everything look bigger. and he goes from hands on his hips, to a flexed bodybuilding pose, which also makes him look larger...
he maybe looks a couple pounds bigger, mostly on his right side, but "Seriously, he's massive." is a bit of an overstatement...
hell, his waistline appears to be much larger as well (due to the zoom in), add that to him looking less toned and with more facial hair, maybe he just bummed out on the couch for a year?

Well, the scale doesn't "zoom in." He was 250lbs entering summer league last season. And entering camp this season, he is 288lbs trying to cut down to 282lbs which is his ideal playing weight.

I cannot wait to see him play. I think Portland is playoff bound this season. They have a tremendous amount of young talented players.

I don't think he's massive but he is big.

You don't think that 7 ft, 280 lbs is massive ? :laugh2: This makes me wonder, what do you consider massive?

The man is huge. He looks like LeBron's crazy war veteran uncle, but he's huge. I can't wait to see him play.

Last season he bulked up a bunch, cause he had nothing to do but work out all the time, it got to the point where the team had to ask him to back off, cause he was putting on too much weight for his surgically repaired knee.

And it'd be a better comparison if he wasn't standing in one picture and flexing in the other.

HAHAHA I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT! He probably stopped getting carded at age 11.

Seriously though all players work out. Some just harder than others. Oden..young kid looking to bulk up and prove himself after sitting out for a year. Gotta be loving that in Blazer town. Good stuff.

He isnt the most handsome guy, but looks dont get wins.

His knee is all good and what he's gonna do on the floor to other teams is what"s gonna be ugly!

Wow, he does look like a force to be reckoned with... he'll hit the scene, Bynum will be back, Nene will be back... lots of pretty big bigs landing on the West at once...

Nene's at 270 now... hard to tell much from these shots, but this (http://www.nba.com/media/nuggets/nene_camp0809_01_300.jpg) and this (http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site36/2008/0912/20080912__20080914_CC01_SP14BKNNUGS~p1.JPG) are recent pics. I actually hope he drops some of that weight. I don't think he needs to be that heavy to bang under the glass, and he'll lose some quickness and be at a higher risk of injury with that extra weight (something Oden should probably be considering as well).
