View Full Version : The Best Dunker In the Game Today!

09-30-2008, 07:46 PM
Who's the best dunker in the NBA right now. I'm talking about in game and out of game. I think the best in game is Rudy Gay and best out of game (as in Dunk Contest) is James White but he isn't on a team so I'd have to give it to Iggy or J-Smoove.

What about you???

09-30-2008, 07:49 PM
it's still vince until somebody prove otherwise.

09-30-2008, 07:50 PM
Best in game is probably Josh Smith.

Contest is probably Dwight Howard. I would like to see lebron in there

09-30-2008, 07:52 PM
brent barry

09-30-2008, 07:54 PM
lebron. i could watch him dunk all day.

*but yeah, james white is insane, would have picked him if he was on a team (also, shoutout to the guy on and1 who did the 720, cant remember his name right now..)

09-30-2008, 07:56 PM
Got the poll up!

Didn't put White up there b/c NO TEAM

and no VC b/c he doesn't dunk anymore

09-30-2008, 07:57 PM
You mean Air Up There? (Taurian Fontenette I think)

09-30-2008, 08:02 PM
Josh Smith

09-30-2008, 08:04 PM
Howard. Where is Rudy?

09-30-2008, 08:07 PM
^ My Bad  I didn't know I forgot about him but he's definitely my favorite in game dunker

09-30-2008, 08:09 PM
Jamario "Apollo 33" Moon

09-30-2008, 08:10 PM
Then by all means he should be up there.

Ph1lly Diehard
09-30-2008, 08:10 PM
Between Josh Smith/Andre Iggy/Jamario Moon

09-30-2008, 08:27 PM
Dwight Howard led all players in dunks last year, and had 23% more dunks than #2, Amare Stoudamire. (267 vs 208). I think there's a clear cut winner, in game.

If it's about style points and/or degree of difficultly, I give it to Lebron. No one pulls a dunk out of nowhere like James does.

09-30-2008, 08:39 PM
lol Nate?!?! hahaha how many dunks has this guy even had in games?
Oh he's had 4!!!!!!!!!
I don't think you can call yourself a dunker when you don't get dunks

09-30-2008, 08:40 PM
Moon for me

09-30-2008, 08:43 PM
Howard. Where is Rudy?

i know like i was gonna say like you say he's your favourite and he's one of the best (which he definitely is) and you dont put him up so we can vote for him

if he was up there i say rudy, but i voted lebron cuz rudy was up there soo... yehhh:cool:

09-30-2008, 09:38 PM
where is vince carter ?? you have desmond mason, trevor ariza but no vince carter come on bro. Vince is still the best.

09-30-2008, 09:51 PM
LeBron. If he gets two dribbles to the rim, nobody even bothers

09-30-2008, 11:41 PM
who is voting for lebron? he does the same types of dunks every time. he isnt really even a dunker. dont take that out of context; the man can bang. however, he doesnt want to be known as one either from what ive heard.

for me its between J smith, Iggy, and D-12. i went with J smith but after the dunk contest, i probably should have gone with howard

09-30-2008, 11:48 PM
I don't think you can call yourself a dunker when you don't get dunks

i think you can call yourself a dunker if you've won the dunk contest

09-30-2008, 11:56 PM
I don't have a top dunker, but guys I like to watch finish on the break are the following:

Kobe, Lebron, D. Wade, V. Carter, T-Mac, J. Rich, and D. Howard

09-30-2008, 11:57 PM
Andre Iguodala is extremely explosive and great to watch on a fast break.

10-01-2008, 12:02 AM
You mean Air Up There? (Taurian Fontenette I think)

yeah thats it, thanks

10-01-2008, 12:08 AM
Josh Smith--the guys a freak.

Blue Tiger
10-01-2008, 12:16 AM
I say Dwight Howard because he won the dunking contest.

10-01-2008, 12:22 AM
The Moon-man for me

10-01-2008, 12:23 AM
Gay and Thornton should be on that list.

10-01-2008, 12:54 AM
Either J-Rich or Josh Smith...

10-01-2008, 01:00 AM
gonna have to go with LeBron James first, vince in his prime 2nd then kobe (prime) 3rd.

10-01-2008, 01:02 AM
I say Dwight Howard because he won the dunking contest.

I think he won mostly cause of creativity. He missed the dunk, it was a throw in. But yeah, he can throw it down in-game. Best powerfull in-game dunker! leads the league no?

10-01-2008, 01:18 AM
Chris Birdman andersen.

10-01-2008, 01:19 AM
Im waiting to see which player is so "original" to put on a Spiderman or Batman Dress in the Dunking contest to repeat the Stupid and Absolutely Unflashy except for the Cape Dunk.

10-01-2008, 01:44 AM
Lebron and Kobe are the best in game dunkers. They face doubles all the time and still get to the rim for the dunk.

10-01-2008, 01:50 AM
I think he won mostly cause of creativity. He missed the dunk, it was a throw in. But yeah, he can throw it down in-game. Best powerfull in-game dunker! leads the league no?

people act like that was the only dunk he did. his overall routine was leagues ahead of anything anyone else did. gerald greens dunks both sucked/ werent creative at the end and his last dunk alone was enough to win it for him

10-01-2008, 01:57 AM
gerald green needs some love

10-01-2008, 02:02 AM
Im not sure how to really define best in game dunker becuse if its about amount of times they can dunk at will it would be Dwight Amare Lebron Kobe but if it about the looks than J.R Smith as in game right now at least for me.
Before him Vince i like Kobe style but his dunks were missing some brute power aspect Vince had.

Im not a big fan of LeBron dunks some are nice but many are just resoult of his athleticism and power same with Josh Smith think they just go and over power defenders

10-01-2008, 02:06 AM
Andre Iguo-****ing-dala

10-01-2008, 02:48 AM
brent barry

Hey he did win a dunk contest;)

10-01-2008, 05:37 AM
LeBron James

10-01-2008, 06:01 AM
I'm picking LeBron...he prolly is not the most creative...but when it comes to sheer power and lift, his dunks are just monstrous.

When a 6'9 guy with that strength, speed and jumping ability comes storming at you...it's best to go out of the way. LeBron has brought power to a perimeter game that has been almost unprecedented.

Kobe is the more creative scorer, and far more skilled...but LeBron is just more dominant, because he is almost unstoppable on the drive. Even when he is fouled, LeBron is too strong to finish. He's a freight train.

It'll be interesting to see LeBron in his prime...if he gets a half decent jump shot...he'll be unstoppable...literally. You will have to guard him tight, but in the physical battle he will just overpower you. The league better hope LeBron will not get a dead eye jumper anytime soon.

10-01-2008, 10:35 AM
I think vince is still here

10-01-2008, 10:40 AM
Its really tough.

But LeBron is just vicious.

Have to go with him.

10-01-2008, 10:52 AM
lebron james by a mile, that dude can fly

10-01-2008, 04:09 PM
As long as Vince has two working legs he wins.

10-01-2008, 04:17 PM
Vince in his prime was amazing. ^^

Master Mind
10-01-2008, 05:58 PM
How is Trevor Ariza in there and not D-Wade or B-Diddy...

10-01-2008, 07:04 PM
trevor ariza can dunk.... but why even put him on the list...

i think kobe is a great dunker.... i just wish he could do some awesome dunks like he used to back in the day. all he does now is pump the ball or dunk it from the other side :\

10-01-2008, 07:47 PM
i think you can call yourself a dunker if you've won the dunk contest

Nate doesn't dunk tho. His dunks in games are ugly and crap. All 4 of them. He was lucky to have won the dunk contest anyway. He's a joke.

10-01-2008, 09:27 PM
Dunks are BORING and require no finesse or skill, just athletic features.

10-02-2008, 12:35 AM
jamario moon! nice and smooth

Lebron is beast though

10-02-2008, 01:03 AM
Kobe got the style lebron got the power but vince got both what kind of poll is this how the hell u dont have the greatest dunker of all time. yes i said it of all time no one has ever or could throw it down like vc so 1. vince 2. kobe. 3 lebron

10-02-2008, 01:39 AM
rofl at Carter not even making the list.

10-02-2008, 10:50 AM
trevor ariza can dunk.... but why even put him on the list...

70% of the people here are either Laker fans or closet Laker fans, Einstein
