CB Lewis Sanders was not seen at the Patriots practice Monday.

He was also MIA at Thursday's practice before the bye. If Sanders is injured, always difficult to figure out with the notoriously secretive Patriots, rookies Terrence Wheatley and Jonathan Wilhite would be in line for more playing time.

Tough game for the Pats. Since the 9'ers run a pass happy offense with Martz as coordinator. I expecet alot of exotic blitzes and coverages to confuse O'Sullivan who is basically a rookie out there at QB. Just hope that Cassel can manage the game. Come on Moss! Get it together!!!!

Laurence Maroney is not on the Patriots' Week 5 injury report.

Maroney is healthy after missing Week 3 with a bum shoulder. He'll likely continue losing goal-line carries to Sammy Morris and third-down work to Kevin Faulk, but Maroney is the best bet for yardage in the Pats' backfield. Maroney should start at San Francisco.

This is a make or break week for Maroney, IMO. If he's healthy, which he supposedly is, then he should be out there making plays. If he has to leave the game again, then I'm going to develop some serious doubts about his durability.

Patriots ILB Jerod Mayo is not on this week's injury report.

Mayo will play Sunday with a cast on his wrist. The rookie hasn't made any big plays yet, but has been a consistent force with 25 stops through three games.

Wes Welker was limited in Patriots practice Thursday due to a groin injury.

This probably isn't a big deal, but check back on Friday. There is a chance that Welker, who 49ers coach Mike Nolan dubbed "Wesley Walker" in a conference call Wednesday, will be listed as questionable.

Cassel has no awareness at all. He gets sacked repeatedly, throws interceptions like Brady throws touchdowns, and even when he doesn't get picked off he almost does because he throws into double coverage. We seen enough of this guy to know he can't get the job done. Unless their plan is to tank this season and grab a great draft pick there's no reason why the kid O'Connell shouldn't be in. Flacco and Matt Ryan are rookies and they're doing just fine. Cmon Bellichilk, make the move know.

Great job by the defense after a rough start. 199 total yards allowed, 3 interceptions. Now, I really like the way Cassel played today. I know that he threw 2 interceptions, but I almost discount the second one, seeing that it was a deep ball that Moss didn't turn around in time for. He proved that he can stretch the field as well, which is very encouraging. Nice win. We're 3-1, and after Buffalo got destroyed by Arizona today, looking very good in terms of the divisional race.
