An Eastern Conference executive said don't be surprised if a notable trade or two is made during the preseason. We say keep an eye on Stephon Marbury, Nets forward Vince Carter, Heat forward Shawn Marion, Nuggets guard Allen Iverson, and Warriors forward Al Harrington.

Wow you would start Thad over Al?

I think if that happens when Elton Brand comes out of the game they can put Al at PF and do the Run N' Gun thing with this line up

Andre
AI
Thad
Al
Sammy

Then they can slow it down and do a half court type of game with Elton in the game.

the utah jazz trade dwill and carloz boozer to the ny knicks for jerome james and jared jefferies. good thing isiah is gone because he would accept that rip off.

If Isiah accepted that would be a good thing. ^

And I wouldn't be surprised if those players got traded.

Those trades aren't going to help a team win more games.

That peace of $h1+ is untradeable.

Of corse it's humorous, the Knicks fans always talking about trading him on their forums and almost all the teams in the NBA had rejected the Zack Randoph trade because of his crappy @$$ contract and his fvcl< up attitude(on and off the court). The Knicks are trying really hard to get rid of him.

Clevland will start off slow and then make the blockbuster to get that ring

My bold prediction is AI goes to Clevland during the season.

Marion won't get traded

I agree. What purpose would it serve? If things don't work out, he leaves, and they have around $16 million to play with next summer

I would love that trade as a non Lakers fan! Take a guy who plays Kobe's position, and refuses to play defense, and doesn't play hard. Kobe would strangle him in the middle of a game

If Marion was to leave Miami, they'd still have about $52 million on the books, so they'd still only really have the MLE next summer.

They claim they are trying to stay under the cap, but c'mon. As long as Wade is healthy, he is the #1 jersey seller, and games are sold out. They will overpay. They will actually be around 49 I think, and the cap should increase to around 61. But wow, do those contracts like Blount and Banks look nasty. Summer of 10', they should have enough to resign Wade and get a piece

I'm no expert on the salary cap, but I can't see it jumping to $61 million for a while, it's not even at $50 yet.

I'm no expert on the salary cap, but I can't see it jumping to $61 million for a while, it's not even at $50 yet.

It is currently at $58.68 million. Luxury tax hits when you go over $71 million. If you are over the 58.68, you can only offer mid level exceptions. It goes up about 3 million a year. There are currently 9 teams above the luxury tax, and 25 above the cap. Only LAC, Charlotte, OKC, GS, and Memphis are below it.
You're Lakers are at $83.16
