The red are what I cuold agree with. Rondo is more of a set up guard. He doesn't have the shooting prowess to be in any league of AI even when AI was a rookie. Beasley is more to Amare I would think than Duncan and Oden the more conceptual back to the basket defensive mind-set Center.

Greg Oden - Tim Duncan/David Robinson
Derrick Rose - Better bigger version of Stephon Marbury
Rajon Rondo - Jason Kidd with more grooming needed.
OJ Mayo - This kid could be anything from a bust to a Joe Johnson type.
Michael Beasley - Something of a Boozer/Amare hybrid.
Monta Ellis - AI in terms of intensity, drive to the basket and overall shot. AI leads a little I think in terms of court vision.
Danilo Gallinari - Possibly Toni Kukoc with a lot more upside?

I would compare Bosh more to Garnett than Horford.
Conley kinda reminds me of TJ Ford except more controlled and a better decision maker.
Jerryd Bayless reminds me of Monta Ellis with his speed and his explosiveness.

Monta reminds me of Kevin Johnson from the suns back in the day. And that is a hell of a complement.

But

Rudy Gay = T-Mac but healthier

3. Def NOT. Greg Oden is a DEFENDER, Amare is a SCORER.

4. :cricket:

5. Beasley compared to Duncan? Come on. :pity:

6. No. Just no. Horford can NOT be compared to KG.

I hear you.

Bayless is a scoring machine.

He's not a pure PG in the sense he's a scorer instead of a playmaker.

But Portland has an excellent playmaker in their SG (Roy), my guess is that Bayless will end up being the starting PG (like you said with a bit of seasoning).

1.) Rajon Rondo - The Glove (Gary Payton)/ Tony Parker
2.) Rudy Gay - Tracy McGrady
3.) Dwight Howard - Shaq O'neal
4.) LeMarcus Aldridge - Rasheed Wallace
5.) Chris Paul - Isiah Thomas
6.) Ben Gordon - Vinnie Johnson
7.) Kevin Durant - Clyde Drexler
8.) Greg Oden - Hakeem Olajuwon
9.) Jason Maxiell - (poor mans) Charles Barkley
10.) Al Horford - Tim Duncan
11.) Monta Ellis - A.I.
12.) Sean Williams - Amare Stoudemire / Kenyon Martin
13.) Derek Rose/OJ Mayo - Stephen Marbury / Steve Francis
14.) Kevin Love - Brad Miller / Vlade Divac
15.) Rodney Stuckey - Dwayne Wade
16.) Joey Dorsey - Ben Wallace

Some of those match-ups are a little shaky. The OJ Mayo one is good. Kevin Durant and Tracy Mcgrady is also plausible. I could even buy the Derrick Rose and Derrick Fisher comparison, although it's too soon to tell.

Greg Oden (possibly) = Marcus Camby or Tyson Chandler
Michael Beasley = Shawn Marion
Al Horford = a better rebounding Amare Stoudemire
Rajon Rondo = Andre Miller

Blazers Comparisons:

Greg Oden (possibly) = Marcus Camby or Tyson Chandler
Brandon Roy = a less acrobatic Vince Carter
LaMarcus Aldridge = a less consistent Kevin Garnett
Rudy Fernandez (possibly) = Manu Ginobili
Travis Outlaw = a much less consistent and skinnier Josh Smith

not to make you feel bad but other than the first 2, they are all horrible. i dont even strongly agree w tracey and KD because durant is a better defender and is no kind of playmaker where as tracey isnt good on D and can run an offense.
OJ i could see being Joe johnson or better. kudos because OJ is said to be a good/great defender and is athletic but not super elite. he has playmaking abilities and can shoot/create for himself. i like that

now for the bad
Oden- IS a defender. If anything he is going to be more like D-12 than Amare. Oden will get boards and pley D...maybe score too, but he wont be Amare.
Rose is bigger and will be stronger than fisher. he's more athletic and although he doesnt look to score, he can score differently and better in some ways. fisher is a shooter...rose cant shoot. outside of they can both play D, i dont see them being comparable at all
Beasley....TD...really. the big fundamental compared to a guy that doesnt play defense? I cant even comment further because you are comparing a HoF talent who may be the best PF in history to a guy who isnt fundamental at all and who is athletic...something TD never has been nor has he ever used. NO!!!
Horford...i dont see this at all. On offense horford is way bigger so I doubt he'll develop the ouside game KG has. on defense...I still dont see it but he had game
Rondo to AI....isnt TD beasley bad, but damn is it close. HRondo can do everyithing like kidd if anyone. I mean rondo can board for his position, plays great D, can pass....but He IS NOT a scorer. you are comparing rondo to a player who has the 3rd highest scoring average in history...nuf said

I actually think that Lebron has a really good chance to be better than MJ. The thing is it's going to be hard for believe to change their believes. Same thing happened when Wilt was considered the best basketball player ever than guys like MJ, MJ2, and Bird came and people were saying that these were better. I mean Lebron is only 23. I compare LeBron James too Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Why? Kobe and MJ are two great shooters and defensive players. Not to mention they have a VERY high basketball IQ, which is exemplified in the fact that they run the triangle so well. Lebron is NOT even a "so-so" shooter. Lebron is an average defender and I seriously doubt he could play in the triangle.

Well LeBron is going to be better than MJ, everyone admit it.

No. I won't admit that. MJ was one of the greatest of all time...If not the GOAT. He was able to do anything on the basketball court. He had no glaring weakness AT ALL. A team could not go out there with a single way to stop him. If you clog the lanes then he will shoot. If you play him man then he will drive or pick you apart with passing. Lebron on the other hand? All you have to do is clog the lanes and the game is over for Lebron unless he gets hot shooting, which is a rarity considering the fact that he is dead last in 3 pt. shooting in high volume and is a mediocre mid-range shooter at 35%. He solely relies on driving to the lane.

Will Lebron will be better than MJ? :pity: and :puke: at the question.

He is turning 24 and is still a mediocre or even bad shooter. He has TERRIBLE form (even an LBJ homer would admit that). Even though MJ was a bad shooter earlier in his career, he had the correct form and concept down. Lebron does not.

Nah bro, he's pretty athletic IMO... defs above average. People just don't notice his athleticism because he doesn't use it that much. Don't worry, I'm not saying he is AS athletic as Wade, but check these throw-downs:

Plus he sees the floor in a similar way to Wade IMO. They have a similar build and are natural leaders who don't force shots... they just let it play out and make smart passes... both good decision makers. They both also use the backboard occasionally on their mid range jumpers. Also, for their size they're both good rebounders.

He is an above average athlete, Wade is world class athlete. Their games are much different. They are both combo guards, sure, but Wade attacks, Roy can't do that like Wade. Basically, I think Roy is close to his ceiling already. I don't think he gets much better. Not a bad thing, he is already a borderline all star, but Wade is a stud. I can go find some Wally dunks if you like, but he still isn't an athlete
