OK, i thought of this scenario about a week ago. You know how the team that wins the championship, goes to the Whitehouse to visit the president?? Well, what if the Raptors won? Would they still go visit the president? or the prime minister? or both?

I know this may seem REALLY stupid and a waste of a thread, but if someone has any idea what would happen please let me know cuz its been frustrating me sooo much the last few days:mad:

Like i said before i know this may seem stupid and a waste of a thread, but you dont have to tell me that cuz i know so dont make fun of me!

So if anyone knows, plz let me know.

Thanks:)

Good question. I would think both because a) the champions automatically go to the whitehouse and I don't see why the Raptors won't if they win. And b), since it's Canada's team, it makes sense to visit Canada's government as well.

probably no visit to the white house. And I would guess it wouldn't be that big in Canada either. If one of the second string Maple Leafs had sugery to repair and earlobe, it would be bigger news than if Bosh won MVP and the Nobel Peace prize.

Ditto. I'm guessing they'd visit both, but we won't find out for a long time. Ha jk Raps fans.

Not true, basketball is getting much bigger in Toronto lately and the Raps will overtake the Leafs as the Raps continue to improve and the Leafs continue to suck.

I would assume that they would visit both. It's not like they are a team composed of Canadians, so the White House would be a more meaningful visit for these guys.

Lol yea that's a bit over exaggerating, but hockey is still big here. It's weird, me and my friends are the only people at our school who's favourite sport is basketball and we hate hockey, AND we live in Toronto. Is it weird that me as a Canadian, would rather watch basketball, football, soccer, tennis, golf, ping pong, swimming, cycling, the food network, and women's tennis before I would watch hockey? Weird huh?

don't know much about baseball but I assume whoever wins the world series goes to the white house... so does any one remeber if the Jays in 92(i think) went to the white house and/or ottawa?

im not sure if someone has already answered this question but they would go to the white house. When the Toronto Blue Jays won the world series in 1992 and in 1993 they visited the white house anyway. They still go to the white house its tradition.

my guess is the White House because give me a player from the Raptors that's actually Canadian. It's not like they're the Canadian national team.

Not sure. I wasn't even aware that the team that won the title went to the White House.

No offence taken. All things equal it is still a 1 and 30 chance. Only one team can win every year so it is more likely that we won't find out for a while. (Although if the Raptors make a deep postseason run and analyst begin to discuss the possibility we may find out sooner what would likely happen).

You guys think Bush knows **** about basketball? He says the same underdog joke every time a team visits the white house.

I would guess both?? Because if they don't visit the whitehouse it makes them look bad and vise versa with the prime minister.

They should not go to the White House. Just because almost every team is in the U.S.A. doesnt mean the NBA is only about America. They should go to their countries government leadership.
