What about Nowitzki and Redd ?

Dirk won the all-star weekend three point contest and Redd was on team USA only to shoot all the time when they have a nice lead.

How about we have a poll created to see the top 10 three point shooters, top 10 defenders? Sort of like that poll Milehighchamp created for every position.

well, if you know anyone who can hit 27/30 from NBA three point range, then you know a pro basketball player. Kevin Love said Miller hit 56/57 threes on the move in a drill last week. Al Jefferson said Miller hit 31 in a row on the move in another practice. One of the best shooters in the NBA, hands down. Guys like Kapono, for example, are specialists. They don't play 36 mpg, and don't do anything other than hit wide open threes when the ball comes thier way. Guys who are more than one dimensional, and still light it up are FAR more impressive.

Vujacic took 270 three point attempts last year. 300 is considered shooting at a high clip. Vujacic shot 43% and was in the top 8 in 3 pt. % last year.

Back on topic, these are in no particular order, and I'm not taking a strict "best 3 shooter" approach here but thinking more in terms of being great 3 shooters and also having a big impact on games. That's why, for example, Kapono's not on my list. Sure, he tops the league %-wise, but he only made 0.7/1.5 per game last season, while guys like J.R. and Damon Jones, while shooting lower percentages, were much more impacting players from beyond the arc. I'm also kind of projecting into next season, some guys getting more minutes and developing their shots more...

Yeah, he was on my short list before I made my final cuts. I think really there are about 15-20 guys who have a legit shot at being top ten guys... then some have better seasons than others, some play in systems that facilitate their numbers - or not.

I think guys like Gibson, McCants, Sasha will probably make some noise... getting increased roles, more looks, etc... and I think J.R.'s just gonna go hog wild (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3NH2J5xg7E).

I am not sure this is the place for religious discussion. I also think you are nitpicking about the term "religion." The term carries a social meaning which it is being referred to in this case. I am familiar with the use of the term "religion" in the sense that you are saying it and as a Christian I understand this. Socially however, from and "etic" (outsiders) perspective, religious view is a term used to categorize various affiliations to spirituality.

And the term mother****ing could definately be described as disrespectful, but my understanding is that the word was used for emphasis in this context, not out of disrespect. The poster does not actually mean to say that Redd **** his mother. It is slang or perhaps more accurately: bad English. The word itself isn't even a religious curse, it has been socially defined as offensive, not canonical text. If this slang is not something you prescribe to than making your case in a PSD Sports Forum may not be the place to do it.

Best. Kobe is nowhere near the conversation for best. At all. Is Mcgrady a good three point shooter? Not really. But he did hit 4 in 70 seconds to beat the Spurs. This is over a season, not just sporatic incidents.

than the pole shouldn't take into effect just guys who shoot wide open, uncontested threes off breakdowns in the defense. What about the guys who play huge minutes, and get thiers in the flow of the game. Guys like Mike Miller, Redd, etc. are far more impressive than a dude who is a specialist period.

WHOEVER U GUYS FEEL ARE THE TOP 3%SHOOTERS... THERES THE STATS FOR LAST SEASON.. HARD TO ARGUE THAT.. ..AND ..HEY..LOOK AT THAT.. 3 RAPTORS IN THE TOP 11 SHOOTERS IN THE LEAGUE... WITH BOSH AND O'NEAL DOWN LOW... HMMM.. GOOD LUCK DOUBLING OFF ONE OF THESE GUYS!!!

Valid point, but this doesn't truly reflect the best three point shooters. Some of these guys may only take about 2-3 long range shots a game. Guys like JR smith who probably hoist up double that and hit about 40% is more impressive then say, matt carroll.
Also, so teams systems encourage to shoot 3s and even run plays for them. What is more, some players are the only 3 point threat on their team, so they are guarded that way (kyle korver).

Guys left out. Terry, House (when hot), Posey can hit the 3 respectably. Brent barry. Korver, JR. Billups (clutch) Barbosa.

And to the guy who said steve novak, I present to you. JJ reddick!
