in the 2008 nba draft, who did you want your team to select with your pick? are you happy with the choice made, or would you of rather had someone else if they were available?

i am happy with the kings pick

I'm happy with the Raps' 41st pick. Didn't really know anyone that deep in the draft but he is another body that can bang and get boards for us.

who did raps select?

Well I was expecting Robin Lopez to be a late first round pick so when the Suns selected him 15th overall it was kind of a suprise but I believe it was the perfect pick for us.
I personally wanted DJ Augustin or a point guard but we ended up getin two most important needs for our team so I'm happy.

nets had a GREAT draft. arguably the best draft of the night. great value in brook and cdr, and helped with their shooting woes by drafting ryan anderson.

If the Bulls did not win the Lotery, I was hoping for Kevin Love to Drop. Unfortunatly his stock just kept rising and we would have missed him. But the bulls made the Right Choice in Rose, He will be unstopable getting to the basket

The Raps got Jawaii. As long as Gallo stays healthy, I'm fine even though I wanted Mayo.

who did raps select?

Nathan Jawai, big C from Australia.

I was hoping for the Raps to pick Bill Walker or Davon Jefferson. Jefferson has a piss poor attitude but I always think drafting the best talent at that point in the draft is best. Case in point Monta Ellis, although that may not be a great argument at this point in his career :p

i was totally unhappy with the knicks drafting gallinari only because of connections that his father has to mike dantoni and the nets also passing on bayless for lopez, who is mediocre and has no potential. then the nets also picked up ryan anderson with dallas pick, also a horrible pick. at least nj picked cdr with the second rounder.

With the 6th pick I wanted the Knicks to draft D.J Augustin. PG is really needed but instead we drafted a versatile 6'10 Italian and used our Mid Level Execemption for Chris Duhon. I'm not mad because I'll give anybody we draft a change but I think it was a mistake to draft Danillo so high, could have traded down bit.

Beno7500
09-17-2008, 11:14 PM
Augustin would have been a reach at 6

You are correct, they drafted Sonny Weems but shortly after traded him along with 3 2nd rounders for Omar Asik who is a BEAST on the defensive end.

I'm extremely excited that the Grizzlies got O.J. Mayo, even though we had to give up Mike Miller and now have an even bigger logjam at the guard position. But that doesn't matter because O.J. has superstar potential, and so do Rudy Gay and Mike Conley. Plus they have around $20 million in cap space to sign another superstar. I know stupid fans will be like "Oh no way Memphis sucks man no one is ever gonna sign there." But the real truth is that players will go where the most money is offered, (see LeBron and Kobe talking about going to Europe for the right price), and the Grizzlies will have the most money out of any team.

The future is really bright for the Grizzlies, much brighter than it would have been if we kept Kevin Love. Plus getting Darrell Arthur that late in the first round was an absolute steal. Arthur could be really good and I seriously have no clue how he lasted that long. I'm really excited about the future of the Grizzlies.

no it's the Heat who had the best draft. They selected Beasley - the best player of the draft w/ #2 pick and then traded 2 2nd round picks (lesser ones of 3 2nd picks the Heat owned) for Chalmers - a potential lottery pick. ESPN graded the Heat A+. Heat fans couldn't be happier

Bayless is a great player but he fits nowhere within the scheme of the Nets. Every Nets fan KNOWS that the big need is a big man and that's exactly what was filled. Ryan Anderson fills Nachbar's position, and CDR is a steal at 40...

at first i was really disappointed that dj augustine didn't fall down to the kings...but after thinking about the draft for a while, i'm very happy with it. I think thompson will end up being a really nice player and although we didn't draft donte greene, he will contribute a good amount in the future as well as this upcoming season.

Phoenix selected Robin Lopez at #15 and Goran Dragic at #45. I think Kerr did well to get these two players considering the picks we had. RoLo fits Phoenix's needs and provides much needed hustle and defense off the bench. After his very good LV Summer League and participation in the USA select team, some have even said that now that he has been separated from Brook he may have a better career... don't know how realistic that is but I'm hoping they're right!
Dragic is a bit of a wild card but Kerr is crazy about him and spent close to $500,000 on his buyout from his Spanish club. On YouTube he looks like a solid combo guard, and is touted to be a defensive specialist. I'm not nearly as sure of Dragic as I am of Lopez, but based on the fact that Kerr chased him for so long I've got high hopes for him.
Overall I'm fairly happy with Phoenix's draft, as Kerr bought in two defenders despite only having the #15 and #45 picks.

The Pacers selected Jarryd Bayless at #11 and traded him to Portland for #13 Brandon Rush and a bunch of role players. They then selected #17 Roy Hibbert to complete the Jermaine O'Neal trade with Toronto.

I thought the Pacers got an A- on draft night. Then Bayless burned it up in Summer League. Ouch. Alot of fans out here thought they should have re-negged on the Portland deal when Bayless dropped, but we were drafting for defense, which is what we got. Rush will be a solid starter, and Hibbert might be. But Bayless will be a star.

Well, the Wolves got Kevin Love and Mike Miller, plus a couple short term crappy contracts, for Mayo, Jaric (huge money for nothing), and Walker (cancer off court), and Buckner (3 years, $12 million)

Robin Lopez.

robin is gonna be a really good player. i thought he was better than brook this year. brook is just a black hole and never ever passed. but robin will give some great hustle grab a couple of boards and he has nash, so he'll score some too. Very excellent hustle player.

you have the ball in your hands every single position when you're the best player on the team :)

BTW, I don't like Minny giving up Mayo, especially not for Mike Miller when they are building for the future. Now they have an undersized frontcourt (Love, Jefferson) and still no pointguard when I think Mayo and Foye could have shared ball handling duties.

I'm neither upset nor happy with the Wiz pick becasue it's way to early to tell how McGee will turn out. But I do the wish would have picked one of the following players: Darell Arthur, JJ Hickson, or maybe Deandre Jordan.

I'm not sure what the Spurs we're thinking with picking Hill. I haven't seen him play so I have no idea what to expect from him.
I thought James Gist in the second round was good and I thought he could be productive but he signed overseas.

Picked Danilo Gallanari 6th Overall

My list originally was OJ Mayo, Jerryd Bayless, Russel Westbrook, Gallanari.

I'm happy we got him seems 2 match us perfectly and be really good but we could have set up a nice package to get maybe Westbrook or DJ Augustin and pick Gallanari with like an 8th overall pick or so.

Yes I am very happy with Brook Lopez. I sadly see him taking Boone's spot, but... Brook is solid and i cant wait to see him pwn in the post.

Ryan Anderson was okay but... we skipped on Bautum(spelling?), CDR.... I think he will be like Boki Nachbar with his smooth shot.

CDR in the 2nd round was a steal and hopefully he will be starting in a couple years or even this year(SF)

The Wolves made a great trade. Love has a skillset that will help any team, Miller has been one of the more underrated wings, and with a stud like Jefferson down low demanding double teams, he will be getting around 160 threes this year. They got rid of Jarics terrible deal, Walker in the locker room, and have cap space in 2010. Mayo is highly overrated, I have always thought that. He is a very good shooter, bad decision maker, not the quickest player, and doesn't rebound and has a high turnover rate. They drafted him simply because they knew someone behind them would overvalue him due to all the hype since he was 13, and it worked.
