The total of votes for each team will be counted (all 4 options together) and the team with the higher total wins. Eventually, the result will be the option with the most votes (out of 4 options) of the team that has the most votes altogether.

Example:

If the option which has been voted most out of all 8 in the poll is "New York in 6" (20 votes), it doesn't necessarily mean that New York has won. If New York has 50 votes (New York in 4, 5, 6 & 7 altogether), but Charlotte has 55 votes (Charlotte in 4, 5, 6 & 7 altogether), Charlotte is the winner, although it didn't have the most votes in any of its 4 single options. The option with the most votes of the winner (Charlotte) is the final result.

Let's say:
New York in 4 = 10 votes
New York in 5 = 5 votes
New York in 6 = 20 votes
New York in 7 = 15 votes
Total = 50 votes

Now lets say Charlotte has
Charlotte in 4 = 12
Charlotte in 5 = 13
Charlotte in 6 = 17
Charlotte in 7 = 13
Total = 55 votes
The winner would be Charlotte in 6 since they would have the most votes total overall and thus the option for them that was voted the most is Charlotte in 6 would become the final result.

LOL at JB comparing the Lakers to a team that had very obvious flaws (depth, defense) and actually made trades in the off-season (trading Kurt Thomas for money) that hurt their team. The Lakers play good defense, but not great defense. The Lakers also have depth. The Suns were the flashy pick to win for a few years. Not to mention the fact that the Lakers actually MADE the Finals the year before when the Suns only made the second round. The Lakers were within two games of winning and they added Bynum. The Suns didn't even get past the second round and traded their best defensive player and became worse on the bench. Totally different situation JB.

With all that being said. This is cool and all, but it is meaningless. Just don't compare this team to the Suns.

I didn't ask what happened with Phoenix. I mentioned the experts picked them to win it all and here on PSD they did as well which is the same situation facing the Lakers.

Besides once you lose in the finals it is harder to get back because teams figure you out.

Not really. I pick the Rockets to win because they have two top 10 players IMO and have a dominant wing player and post player.
But even with that being the case, the majority don't ever think the Rockets will even do anything and they haven't.

However, the fact remains that mostly everyone here and even all the analysts picked the Suns to win it all last year which made them the favorite at the beginning of the year just like the Lakers are the favorite at the beginning of this year.
Just because different people may sway from something that hasn't been played yet doesn't matter. Everyone doesn't like to pick teams that are the favorites to win it all, but rather teams that have a legit shot based on their personel and the way the Rockets are set up they have a legit shot to win it all yearly even if they don't make much noise.

Lakers' fans have two valid arguments:

1. Bynum's return
2. Posey's departure

This will even the series, where (some) Lakers' fans go wrong is that they think they will automatically win if the matchup pops up.

Do you follow the NBA?

The Lakers are adding Bynum and Ariza who weren't healthy or even playing in the Finals as well as adding Powell.

The Celtics have lost Posey and added...Darius Miles? Yah right.

These teams are a lot different from last year especially the Lakers who are adding a 13 and 10 center and a 7 and 4 small forward (those were Posey's averages btw).

Still that gives them someone who can block shots, rebound, and score in the low post when they play against the Hornets and the Celtics. He is stronger than Chandler so he could outmuscle him. The Lakers match up incredibly well against the Hornets but the Lakers have the better bench and depth no doubt. Lakers will win...

Bynum gets hurt a lot? He got hurt one time last year, which ended his season, and the year before he played 82 games. His rookie season he did not play in every game because Jackson doesn't like playing rookies very much who are not very developed.

23LBJCleBrowns

He's working with Kareem...he average 13 and 10 last season and when he got hurt he was just hitting his stride. And, as a starting center he averaged 15, 11, 2.3 blocks in 31 minutes. Those are very good stats no matter who you are. Each time you bring up a point, I disprove it, you ignore it, and come up with a new one...give up, the Lakers are going to win the championship barring injuries.

But Andrew Bynum gets hurt a lot. He is overrated, and everyone knows who is.

Wait..so 1 major injury = a lot?

Please...

Andrew Bynum lay on the floor, his feet having been knocked out from beneath him on an alley oop pass during a recent pick up game.

He got up immediately. No hesitation. No second thoughts. More importantly, no pain.

Bynum said his surgically-repaired knee is so healthy, he didn’t even blink when he landed hard on the hardwood.

“I was fine. I got right back up,” Bynum said Tuesday after a 45-minute question-&-answer session with Register readers. “No pain, no swelling.”

That’s great news for Lakers fans, who are counting on Bynum’s return to get the Lakers back to the NBA Finals. Bynum said he is eager for training camp to begin Monday, when he can play with the rest of the team.

“I just want to get back on the court and play with the fellas,” he said.

BTW, I think the most overrated player in the game today is Steve Nash--a guy who plays no D but has been awarded 2 MVP's....he's actually the only player in NBA history who has won an MVP but never made it to the NBA Finals--and he was gifted with 2 of the awards. I know most people won't agree with me and I'm fine with that...they won't agree with me because they overrate him. ^^Yeah, he was only getting pressure from L.A. before and now he's gonna start getting some pressure nationally. I actually wish he was still under the radar. He shouldn't have too tough of a time. He gets to play with Kobe Bryant, a top 3 player in the game. Everyone knows that Kobe is going to attract all of the opposing team's attention, leaving many opportunities for Bynum to score.

exactly...and without even looking I can predict that the western finals was voted between houston and the lakers...how, because there are too many fans of theirs, and too many fans over rating them, I dont think the rest of the west has anything to really fear with bynum coming back and artest coming to houston, as it can all go so wrong very quickly.

Why? Even if he does get injured, the Lakers went to the Finals without him so...I don't see why they are not a threat. Adding ANY 15 and 11 center as a starter from last year to ANY West contender and especially a Finals team would make them legitimate favorites. You may think he is overrated, but are all you fans truly telling me that you wouldn't want to add a 15 and 11 center to your team? If you say no then I will just LMAO.

The Hornets are not a better team just because they add Posey, the Jazz are not better considering they had no offseason whatsoever, and the Rockets are still very injury prone. I still say the Lakers will win it because they have the same team as last year's finals team with the addition of Bynum and with the very minor loss of Turiaf. The Rockets have the best chance if they stay healthy but that's a big if.

Like the Pac 10, the west will cannibalize itself. Instead of a team going 72 and 10 the best team will get 55 and 27 and have to hope there are no injuries in the playoffs.

They beat each other up so much at the end of the season the championship is always a challenge. The East is a cake walk in comparison.

1. We get it. You HATE Andrew Bynum. But Bynum is much better than Chandler. Just because someone is overrated, it doesn't mean they aren't a good player. Lebron is overrated, but he is still a great player actually.

2. Kirelenko is NOT better than Odom. I think we all know that. Carlos Boozer is not better than Gasol. Gasol torched Boozer in last years playoffs and they had equal stats throughout the season. Okur and Bynum is debatable considering Okur is a horrible defender and Bynum is a really good one. Also considering Bynum shoots 20% points higher than him and averages 3 more rebounds.

3. T-Mac equal to Kobe? :pity: You lost ALL credibility there. The same T-Mac who shot 41% from the field last year? The same T-Mac who shot 29% from three? The same T-Mac who is injury riddled and plays inferior defense to Bryant? Are you also speaking of the same Kobe who broke Michael Jordans record for most consecutive games of 30+/6+/6+ in the playoffs? The same Kobe who was the MVP? I'm about 95% certain we still would have made the playoffs with Iverson - and that we also wouldn't have been as good as we are now. But we'd have made it. With AI still on board, the biggest question marks would have been: Can Nene step up in Camby's absence? And: Can the Birdman step up in Najera's absence? And both of those have definitely been answered in the affirmative. We were already a 50 win team last season. I don't see a dropoff there, and I don't think 50 wins misses the playoffs this season in the West.
