How is he such a great rebounder? He's already passed Magic Johnson and I believe is now 3rd all time for point guards. How does a 6-4 point grab 19 rebounds in a game (19 vs. Orlando 11/16/07)? For a comparison, Pau Gasol, a power forward/center, has a career high of 18 rebounds per game.

Being tall is overrated when it comes to rebounding. It's all about position, and anticipating where the ball is going to go. It also takes effort, as rebounding is not easy.

It's all about will, you have to want the ball.

Its all in the hips...its all in the hips.

Lol but seriously, its all about timing and vision. And J-Kidd is great at both.

Little guards get a ton of rebounds because they come in and take the ball while their post player's boxing out

It's all about timing and positioning!!!!
That's why it wouldn't be a stretch for Kidd to have a triple double on any given night....

He is the one of the greatest when it comes to rebounding as a guard.

Has anyone ever watched him when a long shot is taken... he goes and stands right at the free throw line so everything that is long he is able to pursue. From that angle he can see best where the ball is going to go and like everyone says his vision is impecable.

I love J-Kidd.... he knows how to get it done in every aspect.

Size isn't the only was to be a great rebounder. Yao is 7'6 and only gets about 10-11 RPG, while Dwight Howard is 6'11 and gets about 15 RPG.

You need to be strong, smart and size can help.

Jason Kidd is a better rebounder than most of the PG in the NBA....somebody name me another PG that could get you 10 rebounders a game.

the thing with Jkidd is that he's mastered how the ball moves.....he knows how to track it, the way it's thrown, bounced, he just know where the ball lands most of the time.....He's not out there out jumping or overpowering anyone....he just knows how to position himself coz when the ball hit the rim, he knows where it'll land depending on it's impact.....

J-Kidd is one of my fav. players because he is truly one of the smartest players ever. Amazing the way he just feels the game. If he was a over 20 ppg scorer he def. would have more than 3 MVPS

Yup. He has a great IQ to go along with that vision.
