Doesn't get any easier for the struggling Bengals.

09-17-2008, 12:33 PM
Giants are a 13.5 point favorite for this week.

09-17-2008, 11:26 PM
Carson Palmer (ankle) participated fully in Bengals practice Wednesday.

Palmer figures to be listed as "probable" on Friday's final injury report. The Bengals are 13.5-point dogs for Sunday's matchup against the Giants.

09-18-2008, 01:09 PM
Bengals CB Johnathan Joseph (ankle) remained in a walking boot Wednesday and did not practice.

Joseph appears questionable for Week 3. David Jones will start if he can't go.

09-18-2008, 07:29 PM
Bengals CB Johnathan Joseph (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 3.

Joseph is in a boot and hasn't practiced this week. The Bengals will roll with David Jones at left corner. They may assign Leon Hall to shadow Plaxico Burress on Sunday, which would put the untested Jones on Amani Toomer.

Ben Utecht (chest) missed his second straight practice Thursday.

It would be a stunner to see Utecht in pads against the Giants.

09-19-2008, 10:15 PM
Bengals rookie LB Keith Rivers has logged 11 tackles in each of his first two games.

Rivers will continue to get plenty of chances for stops as the Bengals defense figures to spend a lot of time on the field this season. Opposing offenses have averaged a whopping 43 rushing attempts per game in the first two weeks.

09-20-2008, 10:47 AM
Bengals TE Ben Utecht (chest) and LCB Johnathan Joseph (foot) are listed as doubtful for Week 3 against the Giants.

David Jones will start in Joseph's place and likely see a lot of Amani Toomer in coverage. Jerome Simpson could play more with Utecht out.

Carson Palmer (ankle) practiced again Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's bout with the Giants.

09-21-2008, 12:07 PM
Carson Palmer is active in Week 3, as expected.

The Bengals inactives are QB Jordan Palmer, CB Johnathan Joseph, SS Dexter Jackson, S Herana-Daze Jones, TE Ben Utecht, DT Pat Sims, and DT Jason Shirley. Reggie Kelly will play more snaps at tight end with Utecht sidelined. David Jones starts for Joseph at left corner with Nedu Ndukwe at strong safety.

The Bengals have played a great game to send this into overtime. if they can pull off the upset here then maybe that could give them some confidence. Their defense has looked a little better today, which is a major plus.

09-21-2008, 05:30 PM
their defense has looked good in all of the first 3 games

09-22-2008, 11:21 PM
Jerome Simpson was a healthy scratch in the Bengals' Week 3 game. Fellow rookie Andre Caldwell was active over him.

Antonio Chatman is established as the club's third receiver until Chris Henry returns.
