Kobe Bryant-Has an option to opt out after this season

Shawn Marion-Has a player option

Carlos Boozer-Option

Allen Iverson-Free Agent

Lamar Odom-Free Agent

Rip Hamilton-Player Option

Ron Artest-Free Agent

A. Bynum- Free Agent

R. Wallace- Free Agent

J. Kidd- Free Agent

Jermaine O'neal- Free Agent

Note: All of these players either have an option to be a free agent and or will be a free agent the summer of 2009.

Would you all want your franchise to pursue any of the following players after the 2008-09 season?

Well my team couldn't afford anyone of them but I would like to see some of them in different uni's.

KB24 needs to stay in LA IMO.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rip on the Suns. But like Rome said we can't afford any of these guys. Doesn't Nash have a player option also??

Jermaine O'Neal is a player option, not a free agent.

Drew Gooden, Brandon Bass, and Jason Maxiell will all be unrestricted next summer. Time to pick up good role players cheap, since everyone's saving their cap space for 2010.

Out of the "option" players on the list, I suspect only Carlos Boozer will exercise his. Marion's not going to get more than $17M, and Jermaine is definitely not going to get $22M in a new deal. While Kobe could opt out, and could get more money, I don't think he will. He wants to play in a big market, and Chicago, New York, and New Jersey (Brooklyn) don't have the cap space yet to make a move.

I agree with Indy in the sense that Boozer will walk. But I also believe that Odom could be looking for a new home if the Lakers don't offer him a decent contract after him, Pau & AB17 don't gel this season. I think Radmanovic would be a better fit at the 3 for the Lakers since he allows them to spread the court more.

I would love to have Rip Hamilton on the Mavs but the Mavs will still be over the cap in 2009 so I guess that whon't happen.

This will answer any questions you have about the status of any of the players who are or could become FAs next summer:

Hey i was just wondering how are the Cav's gonna sign guys when there salary cap is still 66,857,897 which means they will be over or near the cap so no room to sign anyone unless they unload some players.

Most of those players will have to stay on their current team, because not a lot of teams are predicted to have cap room right now. I mean there could be a mid season trade for some expiring contracts by some teams, but once again there will only be like 3 teams with money, and Boozer to the heat is pretty much a given if you listen to the rumors.
