As of right now, who would take to put on your squad?

Shawn Marion or Wilson Chandler?

I would take Wilson Chandler, even though hes already on my squad.

Chandler has a similiar game to Marion I think.

He plays D, good slasher, and he can hit the J.

I would take Chandler because he is younger and I think more athletic.

Also explain why you would choose the person you chose. Thanks.

I'd take Marion. He's more experienced, he'll give you 18 and 10 with 2 blocks and 2 steals, his versatility on D is amazing guarding 1-5. He also shoots a higher percentage.

But if i was looking towards the future i would go with Chandler.

I honestly think if Chandler gets the time to play, he can average 15 and 10 with 2 blocks and 2 steals.

Hes D is great.

He is going to be the Knicks Shawn Marion.

And Marion guarding the 5? I dont think Ive ever seen that. I wouldnt consider Duncan a 5.

Who has he guarded that is a 5? Im just wondering, I honestly dont know.

I haven't really gotten the chance to see Chandler play a lot but i know he has game and potential.

Not necessarily guarding a 5 from tip to closing buzzer, but since D'Antoni is in love with small ball there would be stretches where he would actually use Marion at the 5 and he would hold his own but obviously not for 48 minutes, and even if your not counting Duncan as a C you have to admit any SF that can stick with him defensively is impressive.

Amazingly, I'd take Wilson Chandler. While I don't think he's as athletic as Marion, nor will he ever reach that level of greatness, he's 9 years younger and about $16 million cheaper. If he puts up 10/5/1/1 then he is a better value.

I'l take Marion right now. Already an all-star so yeah. But maybe Chandler in the future because he's still young and progressing.

marion now, chandler for future.

i havent seen enough of chandler to truly gauge what hes capable of, but i know hes solid all around, and thats never a bad thing

If money doesn't matter than everyone should be saying Marion. Chandler could end up just as good but almost every team has a player that they can say that about. The Raptors version = Joey Graham.

if you mean now then Marion, not even close. for the future, Chandler, he gets the playing time, he's got star written all over him.

As of right now how is this even a question? Marion for sure. Wilson may have potential, but that's a maybe.

Agreed, and minus the headache about not being the #1 option. Marion can't create his own shot, can only play in a run-and-gun offense, and yet he whines about being the 3rd option behind STEVE NASH and AMARE STOUDEMIRE, come on now. Those two guys were, at the time, top 15 players in the league at least. Whats next? Wanting more shots than Dwyane Wade?

For $17 million? No thanks.

Do us all a favor and don't insult your fellow posters. Maybe this thread isn't to your liking but others might find it interesting. either way, it isn't worth getting personal over.

I agree completely. The guy is a younger version of Marion that has the potential to be better. Marion's been on a downward slope to retirment for the past 5 years! Chandler's stock has only being going up!

marion no question. sure willy c might prove to be a pretty solid role player, but marion is one of the most versatile players in the league, and (off the top of my head) likely a top 20 player, frequent all star, and someone who SHOULD have been a key player on at least one championship team (suns couldnt quite get it done lol). marion's rookie stats outshined chandler in every category except for 3pt%, which marion has improved significantly since then. chandler will more than likely be good, but i cant see him ever reaching marion's level.

Chandler is still very unproven. He has shown flashes of immense potential (more than any other Isiah draft pick) and these next 2 years will show what Chandler is made of.

I'd take Chandler right now not because he's better, but because I don't want to be paying Marion $16 million a year.

Marion for sure. He can be a 15/10 guy with 2-3 blocks and some steals

BRADfromOZ

I take Chandler because Marion isn't worth the huge amount of money they are paying him. 16 million for last year, although if he cost less i'd have to have a good hard think about taking him.

my Boy WC. He's way younger and i think potentially can put up the same stats as Marion but a better scorer.

I'd take Marion. Unlike Chandler, he's good.

Chandler? When did he get on Marion's status? He's a solid player, good defense and athletic, but I don't think he can compare to Marion's abilities. He plays on a bad team, and is still very unproven.

NO DOUBT I`M TAKING SHAWN MARION"THE MATRIX"
WILSON CHANDLER ISN`T EVEN PROVEN NO DISRESPECT(Personal I beleive this year we will finally get to see his potential with NY with Coach Mike D`Antoni.
But right now Shawn Marion is proven he can score can defend 1-5 Positions
Can rebound(Also with Shawn he i getting older and his numbers have dropped)

Marion without a doubt. Chandler has a chance to be a productive player and as much Marion is a prima dona and a whiner, hes productive and shown he can be productive at a very high level, so i got to take him.
