Free-agent guard Shaun Livingston, fighting back from a devastating knee injury, had private workouts with the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves in the past 48 hours and league sources expect him to sign with one of three teams next week.

Livingston worked out in Portland on Friday, and two league sources believed the Blazers are the favorites to sign the ex-Los Angeles Clippers guard. Still, it is unclear whether Portland general manager Kevin Pritchard has been convinced enough to add yet another guaranteed contract to his roster.

A team chalked full of talent might soon become even more stacked.

They have a ton of PG's, doubt he even sees the court.

The article says that it is doubtful he will be able to contribute this season and that any team signing him out be investing for the future.

At least he goes to a team that doesn't need him to produce instantly which is a good thing for a guy coming off such a big lay off. I wish Shaun all the best even if he's not playing on the Clipps. He's a real good guy and I hope he can play in the league even as half the player he was before.

I love Livingston with the Blazers. I felt the same way about Jay Williams. Inexpensive high reward investment.

He could play 1-3 so hes a decent pick up if he can play anywhere close to last we saw him when he could defend anyone.

I dont get why the Blazers would turn away Petteri Koponen (especially after a few impressive performances in the summer league) because he wouldn't get any playing time because they already have enough guards, but then you go for Livingston? doesnt make much sense to me cuz i would've kept Koponen then..

i doubt the Blazers even sign him, i think it'd be the T-Wolves that end up getting him.

Yeah I agree Koponen teared the Summer League. I think he would have a bigger impact than Livingston. The thing with Livingston is that the injury could affect him and he will never return back to his old form and improve or the injury had little to no effect then it will a good sign for them. That was one of the grossest injuries.

Denver should do this but they don't seem to do things that make sense to the fans...

definitely not. the last thing we need is another washed up guard. especially since we have soo many players in our backcourt already.

Miami should sign him. If he's half the player he was before, then he's far superior to Chris Quinn and a rookie Mario Chalmers.

Shaun could be a good pickup for Portland. After this season I think he can return to his former self so that would be good for Portland who could just use him sparingly and for insurance.

I think Livingston would be nice on the Heat. They need a good PG, he is one but he is still injured but with time he'll re-adjust and could be pretty solid.
