View Full Version : #5 Center In The Game Today!

Mile High Champ

Hey everyone, we will be continuing the series to find a true top 10 list at each position. We are on onto the CENTERS... After much debate, Bynum will be made the 4th best center. People can say what they want, it is done now, he is number 4, I dont need to take this any further..

I will say I dont want any more garbage being pulled by people like THE NATION, who are making posts in their own teams forum telling their fellow fans to vote for a certain player...

Like I said before, I will add more players to the list as soon as we put another guy on the top 10 list.

PS: Please do not start any threads with the same title. I am capable of conducting the polls and completing the series of threads to find the top 10 players at each position. If I need some help I will ask for it. Thanks for your time.

An updated list of the polls we have completed can be found here..
http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261272

1) Dwight Howard
2) Yao Ming
3) Al Jefferson
4) Andrew Bynum
5)
6)
7)
8)
9)
10)

A Quick Note: This is a poll for who is the best center, not which center has the best potential. The best centers in the league as of right now. Thanks.

tyson. just as good defensively and rebounding wise as anyone else. plus he scores very well through cp3. other guys like camby have no set plays to score with. JO will always be a forward to me, plus we dont know if he is the same as he used to be. kaman isnt good defensively nor is he athletic IMO...plus he's too rich to have such thin hair:). shaq is old, and dalembert isnt top 5 material

I went with JO hes decent if he can stay healthy and I've heard good thing so far about his offseason.

Although Shaq has slowed down, he can still demand double teams and overwhelm his defender down low. He's still one of the best passing centers he probably has the highest basketball IQ out of the remaining C's on this list.

Stats wise Kaman puts up great #z.

O'neal no1 knos how he'll do this year and 2 me he's always been a classic PF.

Shaq prob doesn't belong in the top 5 anymore.

Chandler is a great choice and so is Camby.

who is the Lakers backup center? Put them up here, they would go #5.

Yeah i agree about Jermaine O'neal, he's been a PF for the bulk of his career.

If you combine solid defense and offensive production the vote has to go to Shaq.

My unbiased choice would be Kaman.

Dude the only reason I did it was because I saw it in the Suns forum when the PF thing was going on. I didn't know not to do that, my bad.

Check that out, that made me think it was ok, and I didn't read the thread where you said not to do that.

It's getting a little tougher now. There are a number of solid players left on the board, but I'm having trouble deciding which guy I would really want on my team right now. I ended up voting for Kaman cause I think Camby's too old and not an offensive threat, and I haven't been overly impressed with Chandler. Don't get me wrong, they are all good, but I think Kaman's the best of those who remain.

The way to avoid bullsiht voting like the #4 Bynum is to only put 4 or 5 options for each vote. If you know someone shouldn't even be considered at a certain ranking, why make them an option? Therein lies the problem

if camby is the 2nd option on the clips then you know you're team sucks. Camby is a really good defender but has been declining and at the age of 35. Not only that but Camby sucks offensively. He won't miss the easy shots sure, but that's really all he ever did and will do for the clips.

not only Tyson is 10 years younger then him, but a MUCH better rebounder and arguably as good as a defender as Camby. Offensively he's that great at either but he has much more post game compared to Camby and most of his points come from Rebounds he makes.

really the only thing Camby has on him is shot blocking, but even his shot blocking could not save Denver from being one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

Playing center minimized O'Neal's talents. He's a tweener. When playing PF, he can overpower undersized players, and he is far more agile than bigger, stronger players. At center he is unable to utilize his agility and avoid contact with 7fters, yet he's not strong enough to overpower them, either. There are combo guards, he's a combo post player. I don't see Toronto working out for him, and see him moving on to be a 3rd option as PF on a contending team in 2010.

physicality, strength, and post play makes JO a more suitable C than Bosh. Bosh is a better shooter, works MUCH better as a PF.
