There are a lot of players in the league who are getting really over paid. Some people on this list you might disagree with. I am looking at this seasons stats in relationship to their the salary. These are the names:

Ben Wallace 14 MIL/2 years 5ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.6 bpg

Erick Dampier 11.5 MIL/3 years 6.1 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.5 bpg

Antoine Walker 9 MIL/3 years 8 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.2 bpg

Jason Collins 6 MIL/1 year 1.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 0.3 bpg

Bobby Simmons 10.6 MIL/2 years 7.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.1 apg

Jerome James 6.2 MIL/1 year 2 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0 bpg

Raef LaFrenz 12.7 MIL/1 year 1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.4 bpg

Honorable Mentions:
Peja Stojakovic, Stephon Marbury, Kenny Thomas, Brian Cardinal

My vote goes to Raef Lafrenz. Sure the guy has averaged over 10 points a game in his career but I am looking at the here and now. I would love to get paid 12.7 mil a year to sit on the bench and average under 2 points and 2 rebounds a game. Don't forget the .4 blocks per game.

I know many players get contracts after having one phenomenal season or one phenomenal playoff run (Jerome James). But feel free to add to the list and who do you think is the most over paid player?

I'd have to go with Walker. His career is just about over and he's on the books for the next 3 yrs.
Antoine Walker[/B] 9 MIL/3 years 8 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.2 bpg

I think the season after this may be a team option, so he would be gone. I don't think Memphis would have given up Mike Miller and Kevin Love, only to take back his and Jaric's deal just to get Mayo. And why isn't Jaric on here??

Jason Collins is in the last year of his deal, expiring deals shouldn't count, since they actually become trading chips, or potential cap space very soon.

the 1st name that came to my mind when I saw this thread was Stephon Marbury... but that could be biased

Ben contract and Steph's contract at the time were understandable because of the thigns they were doing at the time. But the most overpaid player is Jerome James, guy has had a terrible career and a solid playoff apperance got him the 5 yr contract thanks to ICanTCoach Thomas

Expiring deals shouldn't make the list, regardless of how crappy they are. Those are actually good bargaining chips for bad teams, and lets be honest. Most of the players on these lists are on bad teams, because of their decision making.

Hahaha this is a great thread!! All these guys get too much money but Antoine Walker tops my list. This homo gives that shimmy once a year cuz he drops 30 points on 30 shots and the rest of the season he goes 2 for 9.
Another few names to add to this would be Devean George and Juwan Howard. They probably don't make ridiculous amounts like these bums, but once upon a time they got a lot of money for a lot of garbage ball.
